Perrin Kaplan To Leave Nintendo

Following ongoing rumors and reports that high level marketing executives would be leaving Nintendo of America, senior marketing VP Perrin Kaplan has confirmed that she will be leaving the company by the end of the year.

In June, an online report suggested that three senior executives would leave the company: director of public relations, Beth Llewelyn, senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications, George Harrison, and Kaplan.

In mid September, Harrison officially announced that he would be leaving the company, followed by Llewelyn in late September. Now, in a new report from Reuters, Kaplan has confirmed the speculation that she too would be leaving after a 15 year tenure with the company.

Kaplan is quoted as saying, "I finally will be leaving Nintendo at the end of the year. Until then, I am focused on getting a great transition team in place and handling all of my normal responsibilities as well."

The executive departures follow a large marketing shake-up at Nintendo, with president Reggie Fils-Aime previously confirming that some 60 percent of the department would not be making the move to new marketing offices in New York and San Francisco.
