I know, old game. It's from the SNES but is still one of my favorite games. Never done one, so lets get started:

Super Metroid may be an old game, a game from April 1994 , but age doesn't make a game bad. It was released on the Wii Shop Channel on September 07 and is in the top 20 downloads for the store. Another fact is that it took the most space on the cartridge for the SNES.
Gameplay--10/10
It would've been a 9, really. But the only hard part is understanding upgrades and how to equip them. I spent about 4 minutes wondering why my Ice beam wasn't working. Turns out you have to physically turn it on in the menu. Other then that, one of the easiest games to learn how to play.

Graphics--5/10
I know what you all are thinking, "5/10? This deserves a 0/10!" but I am not rating it on todays graphics. I am rating it compared to the graphics back then. On the SNES, there were a lot of games with better graphics (Donkey Kong Country) so this doesn't get a great score, but a good score.

Lifespan--7/10
Great game, but not a long time at all. Fastest time for beating this game was just over 30 minutes (Speed Running). Short game, but you will go back to it 2-8 times before getting bored, not including speed running the game.

Plot--10/10
Can you really give a Metroid game lower then a 10 in plot? I guess I should explain it to everyone so you all know why it's a 10...
Samus Aran's planet was attacked by The Space Pirates and they killed everyone except for Samus...Bad move. The Chozos (Bird-Like Aliens) take Samus as a orphan and give them Chozo blood which gives Samus her speed and agility. She then seeks revenge to kill the Space pirates so heads to planet Zebes to attack. She "kills" Ridley and Mother Brain and the whole Space Pirate Coloney (Or so she thought)
That's The originals Plot.
Super Metroid has a Metroid Larva who hatched by Samus and believes Samus is its mother. Samus takes the Larva (It's the last Metroid) to a science base for testing. She left, and then got a distress call from the same place. She went back, and that is where I stop to let you discover the rest.

Difficulty--9/10
It is a challenging game the first time around. Getting all the upgrades, all the missiles, and puzzle-like levels, it will have you wondering, "What do I do now?" This isn't a game to look at a walkthrough, though, because that ruins it. All of it.
Another thing the game suprises you with are the bosses. With some being easy, some are very hard. You will die. A lot.

Overall--42/50
May not be the best game, but it sure is a great game!
With its amazing Gameplay, great plot, ok lifespan, and par graphics, it will forever remain on my top 5 list.
