  1. I do have Windows XP but never messed with Japanese lettering. I probably will have questions because learning the alphabet of another country does help in the context of language. I can't get enough of language anyways. XD
  2. Well, hiragana and katakana are really easy to learn! It's fun because you can read things if it is in hiragana or katakana, even if you don't understand what they mean (unlike kanji, where each symbol is a word and sometimes multiple words and you just have to memorize ;_. If you have Windows Vista/XP there are easy ways to allow you to type with Japanese characters (you can type "ka" and have it turn into "か" :3

Well if you have questions I might be able to answer them xD
  3. Practice?? o.o;; I wouldn't even know where to start because to get the writing down you need a good understanding of the language but I do have willpower.. sometimes. XD
  4. Kanji is taken from China, yeah :P I had some Chinese kids in my Japanese classes, and kanji was really easy for them because all they had to do was learn the pronunciations for them instead of learning meanings/how to draw them :P

Hiragana and Katakana are the actual Japanese "alphabets" - they are both syllabic (so the symbols stand for things like "ka, ki, ku, ke, ko," etc.) and they both actually use the same sounds. The only difference is that they use Katakana to simulate foreign words, while Hiragana is for Japanese words - same syllables/sounds, but different symbols for them. That can be a little confusing, because sometimes if you're trying to write, you forget if the symbol you wrote is for Hiragana or Katakana xD

If you ever want some help with those alphabets or basic grammar or anything, I'd love to practice some.
  5. I will do my best. I have a lot of games I own but have not really played so I can tell you if I find anything that strikes my fancy. You have played the Grandia games right? It happens to be the best series of RPGs in my opinon.
  6. I've played the Last Remnant and wasn't impressed too much, but I didn't play it very much so I don't have a great memory of it.

I will definitely keep these in mind, though! And yeah, I know the PS3 isn't great for them right now but

Thanks so much, though. You can always let me know of any finds I love JRPGs :3
  7. Right now I'm playing Hyperdimension Neptunia and I absolutely love it. It's quirky, funny, has so many game references that a true gamer can appreciate, and has an interesting battle system that is turn-based. It's worth a try and if you like Japanese humor, you won't be turned off by it. Like Disgaea and it's characters? Try Trinity Universe as well. Last Remnant looks promising but also looks to be an action-battle RPG than a turn-based, I haven't played it just yet. Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny also looks promising but it isn't going to be released until September. Sadly, PS3 hasn't released a full-on explosive of JRPGs, especially turn-based one, but I am keeping an eye on any being released and I will keep you informed. ^^
  8. I have a PS3, PS2, Wii, and PC (obviously) ;P

I am a fan of NIS, Atlus, Square, etc. I've always been a fan of Final Fantasy, but my favorite RPG (or really...game in general) is probably Chrono Cross ^^ Love Disgaea, played Eternal Sonata and am considering buying when I get money... I've played a lot of RPGs that I can't think of, but I don't have many for the PS3, which I'd like more of. What would be your top PS3 RPG you'd recommend?
