Mechwarrior 4, free version |

First, let me start by explaining why I put this in the "other" category for reviews. The mechwarrior series is defined as a "simulator" for mech combat. Its heavily tied to strategy, but its core mechanic is action gaming. It pulls off a near perfect blend of simulated war in giant robots.
We refer to these as Mechs. The mechwarrior is its pilot. There really is to much lore and history in this series to cover even the tip of the iceburge when it comes to explaining its universe, but needless to say its one of the most detailed and loved (and continuously evolving sci-fi settings) out there, rivaling even star wars in scale and comprehension.
Also, this series does little in the way of reaching for epic or unrealistic focus points. Its creators really wanted a believable and engrossing game world where its all about pilot skill, and not one person having the ultimate mech. So it has nice balance in terms of story telling and gameplay. ... [Read More]

Deathspank [PSN] Review "Woot more NPC's to talk to!" |

And yes that is a magical purple thong in the logo
DeathSpank was developed by Hothead Games and published by EA for the PlayStation 3′s PlayStation Network and the Xbox 360′s Xbox Live Arcade on July 13 and 14. It cost $15.
Story: The story behind Deathspank is a rather simple one; you are Deathspank the hero of Pluckmuckel and you were sent by a red haired woman with your magical thong to recover “the artifact” and make sure it doesn’t get into the hands of the evil Lord Von Prong. When you finally obtain possession of the artifact you lose it to a army of orcs who give you wedgies till you forcefully give them the artifact. At this point it is your mission to recover the artifact, destroy the orc army, and defeat Lord Von Prong. The story isn’t a deep one by any means but is an entertaining one for what it is.

Need For Speed: World (First Impressions) |
Jul 29, 2010 - 10:07 PM - by Diligence109

So this game was under my sights for a while... and it was just released as open beta the day before yesterday. I found time to sit down and play it a little today... and these are my thoughts!

There are no girls like this in the game. Not even on loading/splash screens. Don't get your hopes up.
The Preface
This game was advertised as a free Need For Speed game that operates in an online open world... basically, a f2p Racing MMO. The strings attached you can play for free but will never be allowed to progress past level 10 (this is a pretty serious gameplay disadvantage and you'll get maybe 5~10 hours out of it before you hit that wall.) The plus side is that to unlock the full game EA is asking a fair one time payment of $20.
The Initial Aesthetics
The game downloads, installs, and patches rather quickly. As the game starts, you're thrown right into setting up a profile (which takes... [Read More]

Super mario galaxy 2. |

Princess Peach invites Mario for some cake at her castle. But oh no… giant-monster-Bowser kidnaps her! …such an original plot. Who could’ve guessed that that would happen… again.
You play as Mario, journeying to rescue the damsel in distress. Yoshi, a herd of different coloured stars (lumas), a few toads, a faceship and a master luma living under your hat are there to help you on your way.
As in super Mario 64, this is a platforming game where you collect stars by completing missions or finding “hidden” stars. You need a certain amount to move onto a new galaxy and a “grand star” to move onto a new world. Yes… apparently there are 7 galaxies in every world… and each of these are within super Mario galaxy 2… obviously super Mario doesn’t conform to the laws of astrophysics. In fact… I don’t think the game pays any attention to the laws of physics – especially gravity. Each of the “galaxies” can contain several big or small planets.... [Read More]

Alpha Protocol - Joker |

Sega has taken on a new genre of gaming in the Action/RPG game Alpha Protocol, an agency that doesn’t have accountability, so pretty much they do black water things and they deny everything.

First look at the game it seems awesome and kick ass and you can’t wait to start playing and everything. So you start up the first mission and your taken captive by this company, Alpha Protocol, and pretty much you’re tested to see if you can get the job done etc etc, and clearly you can. So the game is pretty much you take on the role of Mike Thornton, US military boy who is recruited to AP because he knows how to get s*** done. So the plot is screwed up, your working for AP you find out some information while tracking down a known terrorist who is believed to have shot down an American Plane in the middle east.
So pretty much after the first mission you're rogue. So you’re sitting there going WTF and it pretty much gets worse and worse after... [Read More]
