I think I research a little.. but not obsessively. some of my favorite games have been bought on gut-impulse.. and of course it always helps if it's on sale.

Storyline is always attractive for me.. and good graphics.. not to mention something which provides some challenges and a little problem solving.

Do you think it's safe to say that some gamers will only play certain types of games, and therefore have a different "label" besides the general "gamer" label? ...

OK. So, there seems to be a broad concept of what constitutes being a "gamer"... and there isn't really an authoritative definition. So, I'm curious as to how others define what are characteristics...

My first console was the Atari 5200... hehe.. I miss those complicated joysticks with a number pad for codes. craziness.
