Yes, I'd be down for a cheap monthly payment to view
-
Yes, I'd pay a small per view
-
No, F&*K OFF with charging schemes, come up with better ways to break even
-
Indifferent, I don't watch Youtube vids
-
If Youtube starts to charge to view vids, would you subscribe?
Any amount, be it 99 cents a month upwards, or something like cents per vid. I personally wouldn't. I just bring this up as I watched a Davidsfarm vid and the newspaper he reads in his vid suggest Youtube could do such a thing and I want to gauge how dedicated the hardcore users are and their responses, me personally am a very dedicated viewer and have watched 8k+ vids now and I will never pay a cent to view something off of youtube, I will simply move on to another site or something that pops up thats built over night to catch the free fall of youtube racing away from youtube which I assume would be a lot of internet traffic for video sites to potentially pick up
-
i wouldn't pay because there are tons of clone sites - and i could make my own with a simple script
and I'm not the largest youtube user anyway.
-
I wouldn't pay first off because you could probably find the vids some where else. Also, youtube has been crap lately and won;t let me see half there vids. It says something about it not existing anymore, even when my friend is watching it at the exact same moment.
-
"I won't Pay, I won't Paya....Noo Waaaay.."
NO, NO, NO. I would not pay for that condenced stuff. You are also correct that there are soo many clone sites you can always find your content unsensored elsewhere^^
If they started charging, then only the true addicts and the guys making money doing videos would join.
-
Of course not, it wouldn't be worth it. Like Linux said, there are tons of other sites to use. I think they would lose a lot of views if they did this.
-
part of the reason i use youtube is so that i can watch stuff without payin for it lol

YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter - these idiotic ways to keep in touch with people who you don't really care about are only popular because they all have one thing in common.
-- Free.
Now - Like Guild Wars, Counter Strike, or other 1TP games, if they gave them enough worth-while apps and extra features, then a 1TP might draw people in still...
- but the incentives have to be HELLA Good... :/
I doubt it can be done.

okay, youtube twitter and facebook are all idiotic, but myspace is completely customisable, which makes it awesome

The internet is forcing us to reimagine the value of things.
Shamefully, something is only worth mass dispersal to the public if it makes money, otherwise it withers and dies. Youtube is a lovely thing that costs more money than it makes, but has intangible value.
Too bad we don't yet care about that.
Fb may move in the direction of becoming a subscription service.
