World cup?
I am sorta confused how soccer works
if a team loses are they automatically out so they can't win the world cup?
or is there like playoff games like the world series for baseball
and who ever qualifies gets to play for the worldcup
I am sorta confused
and also does anyone know if the USA won there match?

USA and England tied yesterday. I caught the last half of that game. USA got one of the luckiest goals ever because the English goalie messed up.
And right now they're playing group matches. So every team plays at least 3 matches in heir own group. If you win, you get 3 points, if it's a tie, you get one point, and if you lose, you get 0. At the end of the group matches, the top two teams go onto the next round where it's elimination rounds. No ties here, they use penalty kicks and stuff to get a definite winner.
Just a rough overview, I may have messed up on some things but you're free to google it and get better answers. I have family members who like soccer a lot more than me and I picked up a lot of these things from them.
The US is playing Slovenia next followed by Algeria. Right now Slovenia has the lead in this group with their one win followed by the US and England. If Slovenia wins the next match against the US, then Slovenia has a big chance of moving onto the next stage.

hahaha ur so cutee XD
Let me explain:
Right now, it's group stages. Each group has 4 teams, they play each other once, that means each team plays 3 games in the group stages.
Nobody gets kicked out until each team has played 3 games.
A win is 3 points
A tie is 1 point
A loss is 0 points
Now let's say the group looks like this:
Austria 9 points
Saudi Arabia 7 points
India 3 points
Nepal 0 points
Each team played each other once.
The first 2 teams would advance, which would be Austria and Saudi Arabia.
Now the tournament has reached the knockout stages!
Since there are 8 groups, that means there are 16 teams in the knockout stages. The first of a group plays the second of another. Teams from the same group won't be playing against each other.
That's your Fifa World Cup

I don't have to explained by the way cause both of the peeps up there already explained it. England and USA got 1-1. Bahh, what the hell England, how can they have tied with USA. This is due to England is just so unlucky that night and USA kinda have a lucky goal. Well I wish for more on England and I wonder didn't they bring Beckham? Beckham injured or what? I don't know.
Keep watching!
