    Default Fighting Games, my downfall.

Ive been known to be an above average player at most types of games, except for RTS, and now Ive realized Fighting games.

Growing up i would always pick up a fighting game here or there, and think i was pretty decent pulling off combos beating the crap out of the AI etc.
But recently Ive been getting into a fighting game craze. Blazblue, MvC3, And SuperStreetFighter 4. Ive owned these games quite awhile but Ive just really gotten into the recently.

So here i am Going through arcade mode on SSF4 Destroying my opponents, so i figure alright, i bet i can do pretty good online. so after a few try's at joining a match i get into a match. The Match Starts and I'm raring to go. The match starts and i get maybe 2 or 3 hits in before i get my ass handed to me on a silver platter with my my name embedded in gold. I tried a few more rounds with a slight hint of Rage and loss, and then it dawned on me. Im just not good at fighting games, for now at least.

So anyways Ive set off on a quest to better myself at fighting games Specifically SSF4 right now. I have noticed improvement on my end, but what I'm looking for are some Hints, Tips, Tricks. maybe someone could help me with? or possibly a Sparing partner?

Anyways i will be back to enter the world of StreetFighter Online and i will be a force to be reckoned with!

the thing about fighting games is players can still win if they button mash, not sure if this still applies to newer games but it did in the past, so i only really play them offline

I think button mashing will always be a part of fighting games :P I used to be a button masher back in the day, but after awhile it kinda sucks... now I always make it a point to make sure I know real moves and whatnot. Much more enjoyable when you know exactly how to do the badass moves xD

The newer fighting games seem to be more about combos when I use to play online. Some how people memorize this 20 move combo that drains about half of your health. It's pretty ridiculous, I normally stay away from online games. They are fun to play with friends though.

I used to be GODLY at DBZ Budakai Tenkaiichi 3 until one of my friends who I didn't even know played came over one day and I met my match lol. It was a good fight though, he only beat me in team battle by like one character.

don't feel bad at one point I wasn't so good at fighting games but far as playing online it helps a lot if you know combos for different fighters button mashing doesn't work any more far as playing online

I dont know about that lol I've come across my fair share of button smashers online However, I think playing online is the best way to learn and improve because for the most part people that play online know what they're doing and don't just use a single cheap move the entireeeee time.

Never fought on line, I know my limits and happy with them. But I guess practice, button mashing and just keep fighting against anyone who will fight. The experiance will get you there in the end.

Ive actually invested quite a bit of time playing Super Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter 3 online lately. And have to say, you lose and you learn. when i was a kid i used to get frustrated so easily when i lost over and over at fighters. my friends used to completely and utterly DESTROY me. Now half of them cant even touch me. I've learned if you want to get better, you need to try and learn from everything

Would anyone like to Spar? >=3
