    True story.

If we didnt have fancy graphics to wow the kids and a few dramatic set pieces then we would actually have to have compelling depth and progressive difficulty. Games just are made for mass appeal and cant satisfy hard core gamer nostalgia.

Makes me want to play unreal tournament on double game speed, double attack speed, double move speed, and fully auto weapons. But I got the worst unreal tournament game in the series. Pissed me off so much.

No arguing with that point, it's true games are becoming like the movie industry, make them asap to the larger market and forget what a real movie is like as with games. Problem is where does the game industry go from here? We have a set genres now with set stories just done in a different way. But games have advanced over recent years, better graphics and presentation so that is at least a plus to modern games. Problem with nostalgia (as I have personally discovered myself especiay with music) if you are not careful you can stay too long in the past and not appreciate the present or future.

Haven't Quake played for years now and I don't think I'm missing anything. Sadly there have been a lot of games similar made over the years. Most games are alike just different scenarios.
