Gears of War 2 was released exclusively on the Xbox 360 on November 7, 2008 ( In America ). Gears 2 is the Sequel to the first gears and sold over 2 Million coppies opening weekend.

You play as Marcus Fenix just like Gears 1. Co Op is also the same, just one player will use Dom Santiago. All the old characters are still in Gears 2, Apart from Carmine of course. There is also a few new characters that you meet. As far as Locust go, they are basically the same, but there are a few new ones.

When I first started playing the game, the story was kind of boring. It was just a typical shooter that went to different locations. After the first chapter was over, I was hoping the same was short. No one likes to play games without a good story right? The story started to pick up more and it became more entertaining. Near the end it gets pretty suspenseful if you get into it.

They did put a few more weapons into the game. Like the flame thrower, nothing like roasting a few locust. The chain saw is also more visually appealing.
If you are worried about the difficulty, the game isn't to hard. I died only a few times on casual, which is the easiest of them all. As for insane, I hope you have some time on your hands, because it takes a little while.

Online play is basically the same as Gears 1. I think there is one new game type. I'm not really a hard core Gears fan, I just like playing it offline. I do know, that there is a ranking system, so you don't get put with really good people when you first play. Which is why I didn't like Gears's online play very much.

The graphics are pretty amazing for being on the 360. I was surprised on how much detail they put into everything. I think it's a big step up from the first Gears. The Voice acting in this game is also really good. I was surprised, most games voice acting is pretty cheesey. That's normally the writers fault, but still.... Very good voice acting.
Graphics - 9/10
The graphics are probably close to the best you can get with the 360. Though there isn't much detail in some of the characters.
Game Play - 9/10
It's basically the same as Gears 1. Even if it is, it doesn't make it any worse. I'm sure everyone was expecting it to be close to the same.
Life Span - 8/10
I get bored of the game after playing through the campaign almost twice already. There is still online, but I don't really like it to much. Though that doesn't mean it's not good. There are still millions who play it all the time.
Story Line - 9.5/0
The Gears 2 story is probably the best storyline that I've even seen on a shooter. They worked 10 times better on this story compared to Gears 1.
Overall - 9/10
Gears 2 is one of the best shooters you will play. The game engine is clean, it has amazing graphics and it's unique to other shooters out there. I suggest that you pick this game up, it won't disappoint you.
