Something is wrong with my computer. When I log onto my account I can see my desktop icons and the bar at the bottom of the screen but they are only there for ten seconds then they disappear? So to get online I have to use ctrl-Alt-Delete. Also I can't open My Documents. I have tried creating another account and it has the same problems. The computer has been like this since christmas. Anyone know what is wrong?

most likely your ram is failing, it's not able to run the programs and features - if you have more than one ram card you could take one out to see whose fault it is.

But I can still play games without any problems?

you can still play games? I still think its a ram issue, it doesn't sound like anything else - you could try wiping your hard drive and starting all over again, you might just have a nasty virus mimicking a ram issue. I can't say for sure from my end since I've never had an issue like that

My friends laptop did that same thing, except he couldn't open up anything.... I reformatted it for him and it works perfectly now.

Ok so my sister told me to reinstall windows and that is what I did. So it worked for about a week and now it's worse than it was. I have the problemsthat I had before but now I can't even use safari or iTunes or anything like that. When I start up safari. It looks like it's working but then the screen flashes and the bar at the bottom of the returns then a few seconds later it flashes again and safei dissapears? I tried using the sytem recovery disk but it just says it encountered a problem and it stops?

(Oh and I made this post on the iPod)

Hmmm, did you ever try to switch in and out RAM's? If you reformatted, it's probably not a virus, so it has to be a hardware issue.

If it's not your RAM then your hard drive could be going bad and it isn't storing memory properly.

I am ready to throw the computer out of the window. I turned it on today to move stuff off it and onto a flash drive. But it keeps on turning it's self off every 15 minutes. Oh and it isn't Reading the keyboard or the psp.

I have absolutely no idea what's wrong with it and I'm just going to take it into PC world and get them to fix it...

LOL if they're expensive why not just build another computer?

Ok so I turned the computer on today and everything is back to normal? Apparently I had a virus and it was removed from the computer and now it's faster than ever. I might even be able to use FF now and hopefully now this is fixed I will be able to play Left 4 Dead before it used to stop every 5 minutes...
