My Computers Being Stupid Again. 8[

My computers needs re-windowing AGAIN.

So I'm going to have to install gimp AGAIN.

I'm going to have download all my stocks, renders and c4d's AGAIN.

And while my dad's stalling on doing it, performance is getting steadily worse.

I can't change any settings without the computer crashing. I can't use gimp without crashing the computer. I can't watch youtube.

Any idea's until my dad gets to doing it?

get a cheap external hard drive or a good flash drive and save all your stocks, renders, etc. - shouldn't be over a few gigs of space

how old is your computer? what are some of the specs on it? you probably need a new computer if it keeps doing this often, it just shows you the hardware can't handle it

Not new. Maybe 6 years old? I always get handy down computers.

I want a new one, my mom's trying to talk my dad into getting me a new one. (All those I suspect it's to get all my gaming stuff off hers) But he's more likely to cash in his skis and use the money to demolish the house.

My dads gonna let me transfer SOME files to his computer temporarily, (word stuff, and a little bit of newer art, but his computer is pretty cramped, so I can't put in my c4d's and stuff. =(

I wish we could have gotten a new hardrive for my mom's old laptop. They were talking about getting it, but then they were to lazy to find one and binned the old laptop. It was in great condition too. =(

6 years old is pretty old in today's computer standards, you definitely need new hardware or you're gonna keep having to reinstall windows for the hardware every once in a while.
