Hey guys!!! I've been gone for ALONG time, I have since joined the Sony Playstation forums lol... maybe some you guys know/remember me?

Anyway...

I know it was a HUGE mistake for buying a slimline, but it was my first time buying a computer ever...
I bought a HP Slimline Desktop, The model number is Pentium s3500t. So I want to buy a new graphics card, but the default PSU that comes in the HP Slimline is a 160 watt 24-pin connection (n00b at this stuff, I have no idea what that means). So I was wondering if I could buy a nor normal 350w PSU and have the cables run into my PC, but sit the PS in some sort of enclosure and sit it on top of my computer. Can I do this?? some people say yes others say know on the PS forums. So I figured I'd come here and get advice from the pros. I would really like Linux's answer to this.

160 watt is really bad for today's stuff, you should really go for a 500 watt psu

and if you want to use the new PSU, you have to remove the old PSU and take out all the connections, I don't know why you can't just take out the old PSU and replace it with the new one, running the PSU cables out from your computer on top of the case could be dangerous since the inside of the case is meant to keep all currents inside. You would be running them out, any slight cut or mistake will shock you

since you aren't a huge computer expert, install the PSU inside the case for safety but I can't advise you on what you think is safe for you
