Paris, January 26, 2009 – Ubisoft announces the exit to the fall 2009 of the video game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles® : Smash up (TMNT®). This version is the first completely unpublished version to have an original not inspired scenario of a televised series, a comic strip or of a film TMNT®. Game Arts, known to have developed another game greeted by the critic: Super Smash Bros™ Brawl on Wii™, propose here a game of fight to four players. The go out of the game TMNT® : Smash up is a step key of a year of celebration of the 25th birthday of the TMNT®, named "shell-ebration". On this occasion, the fans of the TMNT® will discover again exceptional diverted products and will be able to live unpublished experiences to the United States and through the world.
The frankness Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles® knows for 25 years a continuous success, and is at the origin many records of which: the game that sold itself the more on the Xbox LIVE® Arcade in 2007; N°1 of the series TV American on Saturdays morning in the years 80 and beginning 90; N°1 of the daily cartoons for the children to the United States; N°1 on Nintendo Houseboy™ Advance.
"We are very enthusiasts to the idea to celebrate the 25th birthday of the first comic strip TMNT®. We have several planned events for 2009," declared Gary Richardson, Director of the Studios Mirage. "The exceptional video game that Ubisoft will publish in 2009 representative an important step of this celebration of the Tortoises with the fans of the entire world."
"The creation of an all new game constitutes the better homage being able to be to have done to the Tortoises and will give the blow of sending of the 25 next years of success," assured John Parkes, Director marketing of Ubisoft EMEA. "This is a true pleasure that to collaborate with Mirage for the world-wide celebration of the 25th birthday of the Tortoises."
Looks like it'll be a Wii only or Wii/PS2 combo. Can't imagine that going to a high powered console with graphics like that.
