I was just checking around the Official Diablo III Website (http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/) and saw that they had released the third class, which is...

The Wizard (http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/wizard.xml)

"Meet the Wizard
10-10-2008

At the Diablo III Class Design panel, game director Jay Wilson went into more detail about the game's third playable class, the wizard. A wielder of the elements and a master manipulator of time, the wizard combats the hordes of the Burning Hells by hurling environment-shattering lightning bolts, channeling explosive arcane energies, and creating pockets of space outside the normal flow of time.

To find out more, check out the video introduction or visit the brand-new wizard information page to read the latest excerpt from the journal of Abd al-Hazir and see some of the wizard's powers in action.

We've also expanded the media galleries with four new pieces of artwork and thirteen new screenshots."

Not exactly NEW news, but I thought it was worth mentioning and I haven't had internet for quite awhile and am therefore allowed to be out of the loop >: Im excited for the game, who else?

THE WIZARD lol

I think my cousin is still a huge diablo fan, haven't spoken to him in a while, I'm not so much - good game though, I've tried the first one, and I think I played second one in my cousin's house (in canada) - don't really remember.

Haha, my boyfriend still plays with his buds so he's all excited, I can't wait to tell him tomorrow XD actually I'm surprised none of his friends know yet lol
My cousins had II so I've always been interested but never really played, so hopefully I'll get to play III <:

i dunno, diablo 3 just looks like they remade 2 but in 3d... it looks amazing... but what is acually new about it? or are they trying to grab the new/young gamers of the next gen? btw, wizard is bad ass!

I'm too tired to go through newstuff and whatnot.
but I would like to say that I think they have every right to just remake D2 with amazing graphics.

Ok, now that I've slept and am a little more competent, let me read through the site quickly and get together some stuff.

One thing I find cool is the fact that you can now interact with your environment and use it to kill enemies.

From the site:

Rain Hell on your enemies and use the interactive environment as a weapon: lay cunning traps, turn destructible objects against your foes, and use environmental obstacles to your advantage - all powered by the Havok physics system.

Also, there will be changes to many of the systems in the game. For example, runes will not modify items, but will instead modify your skills.
You will also be able to choose the gender of your character.

It sounds like there are lots of little changes and old systems being re-worked and upgraded, but I'm not sure if we'll find any huge changes.
But hey, I'm ok with that, because an upgraded/'prettier' Diablo III stilll entices me.

aye, they announced this at blizzcon last year. It kinda looks like it'll be fun. Btw, I'm collecting a few odds and ends about D3 on my site, and you'll see on there some of the write-ups from blizzcon, taken as the devs were talking.

Wish my PC could run Diablo...well maybe it will, not sure yet. I ran SC2 beta just fine. But my computer performance has really dropped in the last ~5 months for no reason whatsoever...well here's hoping! The game looks great so far and I loved playing D2 into the late hours of the night... (Well I was 12 when I got the game, 11:30 was a big deal then!"

I just hope I like it. I've been in love with Diablo for more then a decade and I don't want to sound like one of those petition nerds who hate change but it just looks like such a different game I'm hoping it has the same great feel and whatever drug they put into the first two Diablo games that got me hooked for so long.

If SC2 ran hopefully Diablo will D: Did WoW run on it? Cause that's the real test lol

I was reallyyyy worried about that as well, but it appears that so far they've kept it very similar :)

Sooooo, I got to the end of beta with Witch Doctor and Demon Hunter. Let me play about ¾ of the way through the first chapter, not too shabby.

The one thing Im disappointed with that I hope they change is the leveling system. In D2 you got to place your own character skill points. D3 so far does it for you. Also, instead of having many multiple talents at once you only get to pick one every certain amount of levels (one initially, then one at 6 then 12, and so on) to be active. Not like it used to be where you’d pick a tree and work your way down to that one awesome talent. Now you have 3 ‘trees’, each with a certain amount of talents. As you level you unlock every single talent within that tree and get to pick any of them that you want. For example at level 6 you only have 2 talent slots open, meaning you only get to choose 2 out of allllll the active talents combined from all 3 trees to be active at once. Kinda sucks because there’s a lot of awesome talents that just go to waste. I mean I ended at lvl 10 and there were at least 9 talents out of which I could only use 2. But I suppose simplifying games is just how they roll now. Id much rather have the ability to put my own skill points in, and I will def miss the excitement of working my way down the tree to get to that one awesome talent. n skill points in, and I will def miss the excitement of working my way down the tree to get to that one awesome talent. I will also miss thinking out my skill tree and planning what talents I need to get to make other talents better and whatnot. Like I said, it’s just beta so hopefully they plan on changing or expanding on those areas.

Considering it's ONLY beta, but since you seem to be a die hard diablo fan like myself, would you say your disappointed or satisfied? How are the graphics? Does it feel like WoW? Just answer all the questions I'm paranoid about lol

I second these questions! haaha!

Overall, just from beta… Im satisfied :)

The main thing I was worried about was that it was going to be WoW-ish, but it’s not. The feel is totally old school Diablo, just with better graphics and more awesome ability animations :D The only thing that felt WoWy to me was the leveling system and how they def dumbed it down, along with taking away character skill points. That’s what I was most upset about. So while it looks and feels like Diablo, it’s much simpler which is kind of depressing lol I really enjoy the part of games where you get to customize your character. Seeing the differences in performance when you use different weapons with different talent specs and whatnot has always been one of my favorite things and so many games are taking that away from you now.

That being said, again it was beta and was very limited. You didn’t really have a chance to mess with gemming items (which will be a big customization ability) and also seeing how the new skill/talents work by end game is also something I didn’t get to experience.

Haha, all that answer a couple simple questions :P To sum it up…. it was awesome, any Diablo fan will be happy and so far Id say its been well worth the ….what, 10 year wait? lol… Now I wish they’d just announce a friggin release date ^_^

If were being honest then I must disagree with that kind of blind following that allows company's to put out **** and get away with it. I mean come on man have some decent sense...

I don't care what the company has done in the past. It still doesn't guarantee a good product in the future.
