I have run into a little problem with my main pc. Either the GPU, PSU, or CPU failed but I don't know yet because I can't run any hardware tests. I have class tomorrow so I can't do a lot.
Just a little rant...sucks that I am facing this, my screen flickered and then froze out of no where earlier when I was typing a paper.
Before people start diagnosing my problem, it isn't a RAM issue, it isn't a Virus, and no it is not a monitor issue.
I may have to take down the GF Servers to do some hardware tests back and forth and if it comes down to that I will try to post an advance warning thread in the GF Servers board.
While I'm gone, Riku is in charge...he has the power to do everything a regular user can do.
yay problems...

hopefully it's a power supply problem, way cheaper to fix. If you can't turn it on than I doubt it's a GPU. You computer still should start up without a GPU, if you have an on board card, which runs automatically unless you have it disabled. So good luck with your computer, hoping for a PSU issue.

Oh, your so darn funny Linux.
Best of luck with your computer though.
I really hope it's not a cpu problem.
Those can get really nasty.
LOL!
I lol'd at the Riku part
But best of luck dude, hope whatever the problem is it gets fixed fast D:

i just got home and i got to working with that, unfortunatley I have to take down the GF Servers to do some private testing with the hardware
@trunks - no onboard GPU and now I doubt it's a CPU problem, but I am going to switch it up with my server PSU in a little bit and try it out
I am not going for a CPU problem because first...as you said, its expensive, and as riku said, its nasty lol, I'd rather avoid that - and also I underclocked the CPU already and tried, so it wasn't overheating - and the temperature is around 31 Degrees C which is pretty normal.
If it is the GPU, it would be the first time an XFX Graphics Card failed on me, but I've had it for well over a year - going to see if I can get them to replace it lol

so this has been bad luck week for me - my server-pc screwed up this morning, just before class, i got home a few hours ago ready to wipe my drive because i couldn't fix it, i put it on safe mode and backed up all my important files and then gave the regular mode one last shot before I wiped.
And it worked...saved me a few hours but caused me a lot of stress..
The GF Servers may be down for another week or two because XFX is being uncooperative and I have little control over them.
Life Sucks sometimes.
Also yesterday, my sister's Computer's PSU burned - just the main connector but that's all you need to screw up the whole thing - I tested it with my own PSU and it worked fine. Since I need my PSU i couldn't give it to her, now I have to buy her another one which is a LOT cheaper than replacing my GPU...
Just another rant
