I'm wondering if I should just go and get Vista and install it on my computer soon. I already bought the only game so far that needs just Vista, Stormrise. It just came out and I thought I'd buy it. I thought that it'd be like all other computer games that need Vista or XP with SP2; but I was wrong! I get it home take a look at the manual and BAM! I see it's for Vista only. Yeah it says that it is for vista only in the top left corner, but it was so small that I could barely notice. Well, it's a bummer now that I already opened it and can not return it. The only way I can use it now is to finally buy Vista or to just use it as a frisbee or something. So what do you think I should do? Go and buy Vista regardless of all the bugs and what not, or just keep. Plus, I don't even know if my hardware will even be capable of running Vista so I may need to spend some cash to get new ram and other gadgets... :\ Oh yes! I'm back again! I was on a little break due to schooling and stuff. ;)

I would say your best bet is to buy a new pc or sell it on ebay

I personally enjoy vista, haven't had any bug problems.
The only problem I had was with playing D2 but that was easily remedied with installing the latest patch.
Older games might have a problem with vista, but it's not bad really.

vista isn't horrible, it's just not great for gaming yet - slowly games will pull towards Vista more than XP, as with your game - I would personally stay with XP but you have to make your own decision with this and see what's best for you - do you really want to upgrade OS for one game? answer to that question will help you decide what to do

and Vista doesn't have as much bugs as it used to - it used to have a ton in the beta stage, it's pretty good now, my dad uses it for his laptop and he's happy, it's just not great for gaming yet as I said above.

Why on God's Green EARTH would someone buy a new PC because it cant play a game? Do you think before you type? Or think at all, for that matter?

I personally like Vista. I haven't had any problems with it and all the games I work with - it's fine.

I'd say just pick up Vista for 120 or look on Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! (http://newegg.com) for it cheap. It's the future anyways. Might as well upgrade now to save yourself the hassle later.

Well Windows is in the process of making ANOTHER OS so I don't know if I should wait for that to come out and switch to that, go with Vista, or stay with XP. I already gave the game away to someone who has Vista and I bought the game for the 360. But I can say, the game would be MUCH easier if played on the computer.

Oh, Windows 7?
I've heard it's great, brother had the beta, and he loved it.

some people are speculating that it'll be out before Christmas of this year. And their RC release is supposed to be out in May. I might give it a try - I have a blank drive at home, it's not enough to backup my pc so I might as well put it to use.

doubt too many people will switch over - most gamers are less likely to because the good old games may not work properly on windows 7 - we all know that Vista had problems with that. hopefully windows 7 is better.

Me likey windows! Well, I've never tried a Mac so I wouldn't know anything about them, or even if games work with them.

If a Mac is your primary rig, then you have to wait for games or pray they launch on hybrid disks. Older games are mostly hybrid though, and Macs now have Boot Camp on Leopard to run Windows apps. I don't know whether Boot Camp completely gets rid of the need for a PC, though...

Oo Apple's a sly mother... Oh well more sales for the games then! I wouldn't complain if I were selling games! ;)

Agreed with Linux the vista isn't so great with gaming not yet but they can performance a better setting that's not XP had. Wait about 2-3 years then it will become good as XP. :)

You know, I heard a lot of complaining from tons of people about Vista in the past, but now, you don't hear so much.
I personally enjoy Vista way more than XP.
And I'm on my machine constantly.
Gaming, Writing, and I keep up with 3 forums.

Yeah! Get a MAC ... if you hate yourself, your money, and your lacking ability to preform the most simplistic and functional, of tasks. Lolol.

Macs lacking "upgrade-ability" is reason one to shoot the idea.
Macs ridiculous price for even a remotely decent machine is the second reason to shoot it.
The fact that you have to download programs or pay for another OS type to even use the dual-Windows or play games is enough for me to shrug it off.

The only good thing it should be used for is photos, graphics, and music, because of it's supremacy over Windows to process and catalog information.
That and I <3 iPhoto.

Like she said with the Cross over, Macs can use Windows now. Most colleges will have a lab full of hybrid machines.

Playing Games on Mac isn't advised solely based on the Graphics Card output and compact machine. Then again, I'm a little against playing strenuous games on any laptop. It's not what they were made for.

Even the desktop units can pose problems for gaming. Upgrading Mac hardware is a pain in the ass, so if your machine falls behind the curve as far as something as a graphics card goes, you are stuck until you can drop another bajillionty dollahs for a new machine. And--of course!--you don't have anything near the same range of hardware brands to get what you need cheaply and abundantly. PCs are not nearly as good as Macs in several different directions that Exo has already pointed out but you can ramble around in the guts of a PC all you want.

Still, I love my Macs. Leave demz lone.

One last mac comment? I say if you have friends high up in the Apple biz, go for a Mac. Keep the PC, but might as well HAVE a Mac, eh?

Now, I say you should keep XP until Vista almost fully takes over the PC. Then switch. Maybe that's only because I'm a fan of XP, and I've used Vista... It's not all that great.

Sure, if you're a PC-noob, Vista is amazing, because it's got all the front stuff in the Star menu, but if there's something buried down deep into the hard drive, it's gone.

... WTF are you talking about? Do you think everyone has "High Up Friends" in the Mac Corp? Lol... Cause I sure as hell don't. I might hurt them if I did...

Just statin' the obvious, lovely. Mac's aren't that great unless you trust yourself with advanced knowledge and you're a techie.
