smoking and drinking and such?

Anyone who knows me at all would know that i'm incredibly against it, and i've never touched anything, and never plan to.

what are your opinions on it?

My dad smokes, I hate it, I bug him to quit whenever I get the chance - I also don't drink, the only family that I have that drinks a whole lot is my uncle and he acts like such a retard sometimes. I really don't want to end up like him so I don't touch the stuff.

+ Rep for a good thought out question.

Being that I've been allergic to some kinds of smoke since I was a kid (watery eyes, puffy, congestion), I'm predispositioned to hate smoking. I don't like the smell and I think it's a huge turn off when women smoke - also disgusting.

I dated a smoker for a long time and eventually, I stopped kissing her until she brushed or chewed gum because making out with an ash tray is pretty foul.

I have smoked before, but never for addiction. When you drink, sometimes - regardless of if you smoke or not, you just feel like smoking. Swisher Sweets (cigars) or Djarum Black - because of the taste is all I've smoked. Only the good stuff because of the smoke.

Drinking is a WHOLE 'nother ball game.

I'm a proclaimed Vodka Aficionado.
I've had dozens of kinds of Vodka and I'm actually going to a Vodka testing in June. <3 I'm excited for that.

I love Tequila. Margaritas. Anything with tequila in it... lol.

On a whim, I'll go for Jager - but you'd best watch out after that. I turn a little sado-aggressive and like being hit to see how drunk I am and to take the pain. I've jumped balconies before and done some really stupid sh;t, lol.

After saying that, I'll definitely say Drinking is a Moderation thing and it's a Certain people thing. My veins flow with Irish blood and I enjoy drinking socially with friends and just having a good time, but I can hold my alcohol really well. 12 shots of tequila will start to phase me, but after that it's a steep decline - lol.

All in all, I think we should lower the drinking age and push harsher penalty and responsibility on teens. Drinking and Driving should be a mandatory one-month jail time, without minimalizatation and a 1-year suspension of the license.
I've seen too many friends die over drinking and driving - both hit by and done to themselves....

All in All - Smoking, No.
Drinking, Hell Yeah!

Just be smart about who you drink with.
How much you're taking in.
And where you're staying the night.

Don't like smoking at all, dislike people who do it.

Alcohol just seems to mess people up in head. How many people do you know that are in there 40's or 50's and are heavy drinkers? How many of them act, uhh weird?

The answer to my second question would be all.

do you dislike people who try it a few times and decide "ew its gross" or just people who are habitual/addictive smokers?

Hmm, well I dislike people who do it daily and have to keep doing it to get through the day.

I guess it's not to bad if they have a cigar or something once a week or during occasions.

Either way though, I think it is disgusting and I won't be doing it.

I feel like everyone is going to hate me.

I smoke socially, and only about once a month/once every two months.
It's something to have with a drink, it calms me and I don't like people much so sometimes it's for the sake of the people around me. I'll step out and have a smoke, come back and end up having a decent time.
I date a smoker, and it doesn't bug me at all, but I guess it's obvious why.
I just worry about his health, and he worries about mine and I care about him a lot so I promised to do it no more. He's already trying to quit but it's gonna be awhile before he's off.
Smoking is generally complicated.

Drinking.
Now drinking.
I hate being another stereotype but honestly I'm Irish and Scottish and have been introduced to alcohol at a young age.
Lets just say I enjoy a wide variety and enjoy a lot of it.

and such..
I DONT SELL DRUGS, ITS HEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRBBBBBBBBBB (if you get this I will love you 10x. Hint, Cops)
Nothing heavy for me.
Pity the addicts.

Before I go into answering the original I must go a little OT, how do US residents feel about the federal tax increase on cigs effective today of 39 cent to 1.01 increase?

Now on to the original question, I am now a non-smoker/chewer but I must say I loved both for nicotine purposes though , it's hella good drug even if it is super poisonous, the feeling of being all streesed out and getting yourself mellowed straight by a big fat dip or couple cigs is great just didn't like the after effects it did on me such as coughing a lot for cigs and puking for dip, call me b1tch all you want but dipping made me. I always found it funny that people complained about cig smoke, it never bothered me. I once thought because I smoked a good bit from like 8th grade summer till like junior year ish that was the reason it never bothered but a relative of mine that was forced to quit because of illness that doctor said if you smoke one more cigarette you likely will die, scare tactics or truth I don't know but it worked for him as he went from chain smoking 3-4 pack a day habit to none for the last 4 months and he says cigs smell really bad to him now,of course he had help medically initially in the hospital he was at but 3.5 months of being hospital and not smoking is impressive to me as I never thought it was possible for that man but I guess any thing is possible if your posed the question of life and death, I guess him being super fat (400ish pds) and not giving a **** about his weight isn't his way of committing suicide, because I always thought it was, maybe he has the eating disease..suppose to be getting that surgery here soon for free that will shrink his stomach speaking of bills and such seeing he is on dummy money and didn't have a insurance at the time they quickly put him on the welfares insurance program and well it's hilarious because the 2 weeks he was at Pittsburgh he put up a 500k bill and while he was in this town he put up a 12k bill and you know how much he was required to pay? about 50 bucks isn't that freaking crazy? Holy crap am I rambling with a huge run-on sentence, oh well. Now onto alcohol I freaking love the stuff, mostly hard alcohols though. But I really should be against though as it's ruined nearly half of my familys life, tbh I think I should be against both cigs and alcohol, lung cancer and cirrhosis of the liver has killed nearly all of my family members of the last 3 generations. I like I'll probably end up with cirrhosis as I had a fond habit of popping pills in HS, most of the time I didn't even know I was taking, friends were like.." want some these?" was like sure. hell i needed it to get through school as it was so boring, it was that or having my friends get a dime or qtr and smoke up before school, probably why I flunked out, caring more getting high or drunk then the actual school, looking back I was I did different or at least did different after dropping out, sure I got my GED but a nutless monkey could get that I screwed up 2 good job chances. 1) I could have had a free ride to Dubois Tech and could be a certified welder for 16+ bucks right now which is really good money for this area especially at this age or 2) being a grinder for the welds at like 9 bucks an hour..but no this moron is a moron is now currently unemployed because he is a moron and to lazy to look for a job, it's not the job that I am lazy, I can do that no problem for the most part...anger issues being the only problem although I have gotten way better, but the actual looking and in this job climate it's depressing, I really need a job though for games and getting a netflix subscription, 8 at a time for 47 a month, that's amazing I could watch so many movies I never seen before it would be rediculously cool. When I had netflix before I could send them back in and get them back like 4-5 times a month, that's 32-40 movies a month for just 47 which is outstanding. Oh god more OT I need to end this post with a **** yeah go go Jack Daniels

I do not believe there is much wrong with casual drinking. There is nothing wrong with drinking, if you are a responsible person. It is possible to sit around with friends and enjoy beer or wine. However, there will always be people who abuse alcohol who shroud with a cloud of negativity the drinking of alcohol. People who take an ironclad offense to alcohol claiming it immoral do not realize how important it is historically. During the Middle Ages when sewage was a problem, water was unclean, and the only drink that was pristine was alcohol. Had the people in the Middle Ages not drank alcohol, they would have resorted to water and had the craps.

Besides, anything taken in moderation won't pose a problem. Drugs on the other hand, are wrong in that most people take them for the sole reason of getting "high", not as a social gathering. I see little to no good that comes from taking drugs.

... Did anyone read that blockpost?

I got the first sentence - and HELL YEAH @ taxing cigs higher. They need to. They also need to jack up the rates of their Health Insurance. Smokers keep Cardiovascular clinics in business with surgeries, cancers, bipasses, and only God and Doctors know what else.

Smoking I'm against, period! I've never liked it and because my mum won't quit, I've made her smoke outside so it doesn't effect my sister as much.

Drinking, i'm not so much against as I do drink socially with a game of pool every other weekend.. but alcohol was one of reason my parents split 2 years ago.... dad was in the pub everynight spending morgage money and such.... but that's a story for another time.

I would never smoke... I probably wouldn't drink either. I've had some before and it really isn't that great. Juice is good for me. :-P I don't care what others do as long as it doesn't affect me. It really bothers me when somebody smokes near me like in a car or something without the window cracked. It makes me sick... I hate breathing cigarette smoke. I don't have a problem with drinking as long as people don't get really drunk and hurt someone. Then, it's definitely frowned upon. If you're responsible, then go ahead and do whatever you want.

You know, I like you because you're pretty accepting and don't judge.

ugh one time i was in a car with my 2 friends, and they were like hey, lets smoke weed. and i'm like oh god. And...i could see the freakin smoke. it was just chillin there, in the car. wow omg lol. I made them open the window and i like pressed my face against it cuz i wanted to breathe lol
