Which Final Fantasy game do you believe is better

Final Fantasy 10
or
Final Fantasy 8

Please only answer if you have played the entirety of both games.

VIII, hands down.

X is a stupid story with good graphics.
VIII had an awesome storyline, great side quests, triple triad, quistis - what more do I need to say?

Bahamut was awesome. Odin rocked. Getting Tonberry was crazy fun.

8 just because it was longer and I believe 10 was way to short.

8 wasn't that much longer than 10. 8 had more disks, but when 8 was released it was on cds so there wasn't enough room to put it on one disk

For me the Main story on 10 was much shorter then 8.
Either way it's hard for me to choose a favorite.

Out of Final FAntasy 10 and 8. 8 was the best because 10 was the beginning of the sad trial to hell for final fantasy.

I think they are both good in their own rights.

Final Fantasy VIII had a better story and main character.
Final Fantasy X had the better graphics and gameplay.

In Final Fantasy X almost every character had their unique little quirks and abilities due to the narrow structure of the sphere grid until the end of the game, for me I like it when the characters have something going for them. I used every single character all the time in X.

In final fantasy VIII I felt like only using squall, zell, and rinoa the entire time.
Also the drawing for 99 magics for everything kind of made the game stagnant.

I don't know it's kind of a toss-up.....they were both enjoyable to me in the long run. Go FFVI!

To say that X's graphics are better than VIII's is blatantly obvious. The game came out years later, and therefore - shouldn't bias your judgment. DUH.

In VIII, every character had their little quirks as well that separated them from the pack.

I didn't like X because it was kiddish and boring, I thought. It seemed like they were trying too hard to appeal to the new generation of gamers, without understanding that the older ones matter the most, because they introduce the younger ones to certain games.
If the game blows, I'm not recommending it to anyone.

In VIII, the GF's and Junctioning system was A MILLION times cooler than the sphere grids. Infinitely.

If you finished only wanting to use Zell and Rinoa then you were just plain lame.
Irvine's Power Shot was amazing, Quistis was without a doubt, always in my party, and Selphie's Roulette deal that allows you to mega-cast high-intense spells was amazing for the beginning of the game.
Rinoa was the most worthless character available. Zell's limit was the only thing that made him worth while.

Poor judgment of an excellent game.
I actually feel like playing it again now.

And the only sensible thing you said was "Play FFVI". Phenomenal game.

@exodyus

What I meant by quirks was that almost every character in FFX had a unique battle trait

Yuna=White magic user
Lulu=Black magic user
Rikku=thief
Khimari=Blue mage
etc.

In FFVIII, except for the limit breaks you pretty much would just throw gf's on em and say go fight. They had nothing that made them stand-alone from the rest.

I didn't like X because it was kiddish and boring

So doing 1 battle for 30 minutes to draw 99 blizzard and cure in FFVIII isn't boring huh?
