Well, seeing as i own like 30 blu rays and am a semi active member on hidefdigest, i'd make a blu ray thread.

So do any of you watch blu ray movies? (or HD DVD) What is your opinions on them? If you don't buy HD movies what would cause you to take the plunge?

Probably won't buy BR till it starts having releases that can't be found on DVD, actually waiting for BR to take a huge marketshare that causes dvds price to drop greatly so I can have my movie collection explode. That and not having HDMI cords atm(yes yes I know monoprice for cheap, but it's not my HDTV and my uncle has procrastinated and I ain't paying) has stopped me from caring

I've been collecting Blu-ray movies since Christmas. I've got a pretty good collection so far but I already had/have a 300+ dvd collection and I can't justify buying the same movie twice just because the newer version looks better. All new movies that come out however I get on Blu-ray.

I haven't watched a movie in blu ray yet. I doubt there is that big of a difference from HD. I can only play them on my PS3, which is my brothers. So I'm not going to waste money on movies that I can't watch anytime I want.

Well i've gotten so used to hi def that its hard to watch a movie in standard def. Some movies i'm satisfied with my dvd, but other movies i absolutely want in hi def

I only have 3 Blu-Ray's so far: Dark Knight, Quntum of Solace and Transporter 3. I don't think I'll buy many BR's. Only the movies that I am really interested in...

i admit that there isnt as a big jump for blu ray movies yet unlike when the dvd was released but i do think it the way things will go eventually, just taking a long time since its taking people a while to get the new full hd tv's
i wouldnt justify buying a lot of the classic movies on the new disk yet since they are still expensive but in a few years then maybe i will.

the list of ones i have so far are......

fast and the furious 1-4
iron man 1&2
angels & demons
terminator salvation
dark knight
wall-e
hang over
and a couple more which i cant remember

I would recommend Pirates of the Caribbean 1-3 boxset on BluRay to anyone!
If you like the films, take full advantage and get the boxset, the films make full use of it being a BluRay and look simply fantastic, both visually and audiably.

^ never really bothered with the series, but I figured it'd be a great box set so I've been meaning to get it. Same with Spiderman and Resident Evil sets

Anyways, I just got the Rocky Collection. I've watched the first 4 so far. First 2 movies looked kinda meh. Decent but meh. 3 and 4 looked good though. First one is probably the best IMO, but I enjoyed watching 3 and 4 the most
