8 character password =(

Hey,
I was just wondering why these forums require an 8 character password instead of the usual 6?


Choose password:
For best security, you should use 6 or more characters with a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
And when you try to change it to a 6 character password you can't! :o lol

Just wondering if it could be changed to 6, because i have a standard 6 character password that i use for online forums.

oh really? lol my password has more than 8, wont tell you want lol, but that sounds weird, it doesnt let you do 6 characters? well we'll have to wait for linux to come on

That's weird, it is 6 isn't it? My password had exactly 6 characters (nobody try mine). ???

well try now, its the new version of SMF thats doing this i guess, because the security level was the same on the last version and it allowed min of 4 chars, now i had to go down one level of security to make it 4 chars min. its weird. but it should be fixed.
