Left 4 Dead... Yes or no?

Recently I bought dead rising but it didn't quite quench my thirst for the killing of the undead. Then a couple of days ago a tried out the left 4 dead demo at my friends house and i was over whelmed with how fun it is. However, that was just a demo so i was hoping some of you lot could just help me out if i should get it or not.

PS: i have been on youtube and seen gameplay and it just makes me want it even more.

Eh, the replay value is a little shallow - personally. I've owned it since it came out and had the demo as well.
It's not a bad game, per say - I guess I just overplayed it.

I have to agree with Ex on this, it's a great game so long as you don't over play it. I would definately recommend it.

My brother didn't like it at all. He said you could not play by yourself because the AI was stupid and when he went online he'd only find 'squeakers' to play with.

You're brother obviously just had some bad luck, because the AI is smart enough to pounce and mutilate you if you happen to stray from the group.
And I've personally, never come across any 'squeakers' online and I always have my game open publically. I've always managed to find either players that are silent or players that know how to communicate.

But what Candy was saying, the new Survival Mode with the new map 'Lighthouse' has added just enough to keep people coming back for more..

The AI I think are only good when you are playing off line. On line they are stupid and don't really help, off, they seem to do fine.

the AI will only make you mad if you are in Versus mode going against 4 humans. Even one AI in your team will make you mad because Humans > AI.

otherwise in regular campaigns they do well because all the special infected are AI's as well so the challenge isn't as high.

L4D is a really fun game.. especially if your a zombie film/game fanatic.
the storyline is good. Everyone has a point though about the overplaying stuff.
but still it's really enjoyable.
After you finish the game just wait a couple of months more and the new L4D 2 will be available hehehehe ^______^

Get the pc version if your pc can handle it there's custom maps in the works now that the beta builder is released, or is it out of beta?

it's fun because of the versus mode - you get to be special infected - that's why I even play the game anymore, I haven't played campaign more in months (where you're just humans trying to get through 5 levels and get rescued) and i got tired of Survivor mode a week after it came out.

don't think I'd be as interested if it wasn't for the VS mode.

I rank left 4 dead right there next to Doom and Quake as one of the best first person shooters of all time.

If ID Software ever remade Doom II - Hell on Earth, it should be just like l4d.
