Do you think cornering is cheap? Cause I personally don't. What do you think.

depends on the game - some games allow a second here and there for the other guy to get up and defend himself, and other games allow you to keep hitting even when they are down which is pretty annoying especially when the game doesn't let you get up and do anything.
games like DBZ Budokai and MK and SF doesn't seem to have that, I was always able to get up and do something if I got cornered.
Its cheap if you don't know the mechanics of a fighter such as frame advantage or more simpler techniques like ground blocking or quick recovery. For example, in Street Fighter IV, a simple properly timed "down" on the joystick with cause your character to bounce back to his/her feet instantly. In games like BlazBlue (my new favorite fighting game), you can roll into or out of attacks by holding down all 3 attack buttons and moving the joystick forwards or backwards. You can also perform special blocks while on the ground.
Other techniques to combat cornering include wake-up specials such as Ryu's wake up Shoryuken (dragon-punch).
Overall, cornering is a fair technique to use against any fresh-faced fighter. It will almost never work however, on anyone who's spent more than a day training with a fighter.

I do not think its actually cheap more like just something you need to keep in mind with your defense.
