I have never played role-playing games before. But they sound fun. So I want to get into them. I know there is Runscape then world of warcraft. But I do not have a p.c.(I use mac) to run that on. So can you guys recommend me some free online roleplaying games that you like please.

Try Diablo 2.
Great action rpg with many dungeon runnings.

I believe it works on a mac.
The cost is around 40 for both Diablo II and the expansion.

you could try ROSE (Rush On Seven Episodes) - I used to love this game back in early high school, It's back to being free (as of summer 2008) and it still have a lot of players. But I outgrew it but it could be good for you if you've never tried it before.

Warhammer is another good one I'm told, but it's not free.
