google indexes and reindexes pages all the time - if it sees activity to the link is going down or interest is going down, it will remove links.

Gamers-forum.com gets its links indexed then removed and then reindexed at different times of the year - I wouldn't be surprised if Jacob's link got back on top 10 after a while. assuming the link still exists and get some traffic.
