famous ciphers?

alright so my teacher in our CNISS class gave our entire class a encoded message and said for us to figure it out.

the following is the text:

MLPSIUXXPTMANFPECYXXSGAAKIJQIMKILDZQMSSGOD


I've already tried the ceasar cipher with all possible number placements and reverse order.

Any Ideas? Any famous Ciphers that might help?

There's also a man in there. and I noticed the two XX's right away and though those might be spaces....but....yeah.......

so I was the first one in my class to break it.

Basically it was a vignere cipher......keyword was TELCOM
