Well guys I played the L4D2 demo and it kinda left me with no hopes left at all. For the survivors anyways. The infected have upgraded there infantry to 3 new infected and a few uncommon common infected.

The Spitter: Well enough enough a chick that spits acid into you and when is killed will leave a pool of acid you have to watch out for.

The Jockey: A former basketball player (speculation) who jumps on your back and drags you off seperating you from your team.

The Charger: A big guy with one arm that charges in and takes the 1st person and runs away with him and knocks everyone else down around. Great for seperating groups. Once the person is taken he takes em to a corner and does a Pyramid Head on you ... well kinda ... he bashes you to the ground til you die or (he's not that hard to kill) he gets killed.

S.W.A.T. Zombie: A zombie ... with a kevlar & helmet. A lot harder to kill than any of the new infected ... you got to spin it around and shot it in the back. Only way to kill him, either that or melee him to death.

Melee .... huh ... we'll get into that.

Now I know we are all excited about the melee weapons, I was too .... until I discovered that you had to give up your pistol to make room for a melee weapon ,,, lame! Like many of us I thought melee weapons would and to the fun not take away from it. So you give up the choice of having a long range weapon and get a hand to teeth weapon. I for one don't like this concept of melee weapons replacing the pistols I rather shoot some head far away then be surrounded and possibly get ambushed by a special infected and be left for ummm dead ...

Melee Weapons:

Bat (Pre-order only) but ... if you didn't pre-order and you play with someone who does you can still get it as long as the person who pre-orders stays in the game.

Guitar: Well you would need anything to bash them off even a ....

Frying Pan: Need say more ?

Machete: Pretty awesome but nothing compared to ...

Katana: Very sharp can take multiple heads off.

Baton: Maybe the S.W.A.T. zombie dropped it or something.

Crowbar; Ah back to the good ol' days of Half-Life.

I know they are pretty much a lot more but they are other things I want to get into such as new tools to survive with.

Boomer Vile: A container with boomer .... God knows what ... that you can throw at your enemies which then a horde comes and attack the target, great on tanks & witches.

Defibrillator: If someone dies ... it's ok you can resurrect them back with the defibrillator paddle!

Adrenaline Shots: I hope your not afraid of needles! You insert this to either yourself or a team and it pumps up your actions.

Well I hope this review will helps aid players with the new encounters. Happy hunting! With either survivors or infected. So if you want to team up add me on Steam under my same alias.

Best of luck.

thanks for the review, I'm about to try out the demo right now. Good to know about the new special infecteds and the melee weapons sounds awesome. I'll post my own feedback when I have some time to evaluate the game myself.

edit: well I just played the demo - didn't WOW me like L4D did when I first played it but it's pretty nice in terms of the stuff they added- pretty sweet weapons, new special infecteds seem pretty good. And that steroid shot along with the pill is nice.

Can't wait to see what the full release will be like. Only a few weeks away!

I think most people are getting it because they loved the first one. For some reason the game play feels much different between the two L4Ds. I thought it was just my mouse sensitivity in game but that wasn't it. That's why I was struggling earlier when playing with Leo, couldn't get my aim or movements right.

I love the machete though, chops the head off. I looked for a katana but haven't found one in game yet. But I've only played twice so I'm probably missing a few spots.

I can't wait to try the game out as an infected. The Jockey and The Charger look interesting. Haven't seen too many hunters, smokers, or boomers spawn as much as Chargers and Jockies. Even the spitter comes out more than the original three.

I've yet to see that bat anywhere in that map...I've played with the machete, the frying pan, guitar, and the police baton. But no bat...

I played this, it was amazing, it just made me look more forward to it.
My friends said it was eh, he wasn't impressed.
So I dunno, I guess opinions vary.
I loved it, it was so much fun, and they made it even more teamwork, as it's almost impossible to self rush.

I like the Jockey. I wanna play as him in versus

I really want to get this.
):
Though I do have a computer that can handle it now!

Do you think that not ever playing L4D will affect playing L4D2?

no one can judge a full game by its demo - that's jumping to conclusions.

The demo didn't blow my mind but I do look forward to the game to see how the full version would be. The original L4D kept me in because of the Versus mode and i know L4D2 already has a few other modes and maps, maybe they'll be able to keep my attention until L4D3

L4D doesn't follow L4D2, only similarity is they take place at the asme time, but different areas of the US.

And the demo is out on 360, that's how I played it, lol.

And the demo can let you judge the game, because the demo is part of the game. The only thing the demo doesn't have is more weapons, and different modes and maps. Which are all good things. So the game can't really get any worse.

I know it doesn't follow the original game. I was talking about the modes of play.

And the demo is out for the PC too, I have it and I've played it plenty of times with plenty of people.

And...I said you can't judge the FULL game by it's demo because it is missing a lot. A bad demo may be missing stuff that makes the game great. And a really good demo may be giving away too much of the game that makes the full game useless.

And either way, the judgment part is just an opinion so no right or wrong, I just told you the way I look at it from my own experiences with demos and games.

I thought it was decent but I'm not going to buy it until it's like $20.
I give it a couple months and there will be Servers on L4d Cloning the Features and campaigns of L4D2.

Here's an HD Video of my experience with the Demo for all those interested.

people made mods for CS and CSS where it felt like you were playing the other game in terms of game play - it sucked. I doubt L4D will be able to fully replicate many things from L4D2 with a 100% accuracy.

Had a go of the demo. It's like L4D 1 but improved. Do like the new special infected.
