"Most online shooters throw you in the middle of a warzone as a nameless soldier that is fighting to help your team win that particular round. However, the impact of that match has no particular impact on the overall game (unless you're in a clan) and you don't have anything invested in a match apart from proving how good you are. In fact, with the exception of having your stats tracked, your actions and match wins doesn't make your side any stronger or better than the opposing side. " -IGN

This is all about to change with the comming of a new game scheduled to release in January 2010. MAG or Massive Action Game will pit players into a warzone in which their every action not only affect themselves and the game thier in but every player in their clan around the world can feel the reprucussions as each victory will give the winning side new gear to use against thier foes, and everyone in your game or not has access to these "perks". Lets begin with create a character; unlike most games where you build both good and bad player models (loadout, skin, ect) you can only build one character and you have to stick with this character for teh remainder of the game. You should 1 of 3 PMC's; Valor, S.V.E.R., and Raven. The PMC do not have a specific advantage over the others but all have different gear (such as weapons, vehicles, ect.)

"Now, whenever you wind up creating your character, you start out at level one, are placed in an eight-man squad and go through training with your squadmates to get accustomed to gameplay. There are multiple ways that you can advance your level, such as getting kills in battle, repairing destroyed equipment, reviving downed team members and accomplishing your objectives. Once you reach a new level, you receive skill points that can be used to unlock new weapons, gear and abilities, like decreasing your reload speed or improving your marksman skill. Unlike other games, there aren't class specializations in MAG, so you can choose to be an assault trooper with medic abilities or an engineer with sniper skills. The only thing holding you back are which skills you choose to invest in; it's not possible to acquire every skill, and while the beta currently caps out at 40, Zipper and SCEA haven't determined what the eventual level cap will be." -IGN

As you play the game you will gain EXP to level up as you lvl up you can control squads, platoons, and with enough exp the entire force on the field. People who stick in their groups will be given passive bonuses to help give incentive to players to follow objective's.

"As soon as you complete the training, you'll gain access to the Suppression mode, which is a 32 vs. 32 team deathmatch. At level three, you gain access to the Sabotage mode, another 32 vs. 32 objective-based mode where attackers need to hold checkpoints and eventually destroy a target while defenders try to prevent incoming strikes. Eventually, you'll unlock Acquisition, a 64 vs. 64 Capture the Flag-based mode where you break through enemy lines, try to acquire an enemy vehicle and escape in one piece. Finally, after you gain enough levels, you unlock Domination, the 128 vs. 128 multiple objective-based mode that takes over an entire battlefield." -IGN

I'm gonna be honest here, tl;dr. Kinda just skimmed because I've read a bunch about this game already ^.^

the only thing stopping me from playing MAG is the fact that I don't own a PS3 >.< If this or any equivalent ever existed for PC I'd be all over it!

After playing the public beta I will say I enjoy MAG a ton. I am not sure if its a game for everyone though. This game is awesome if you want to work as a team with people and follow orders but if you just want to run and gun rambo style you may want to skip this one. The emphasis in MAG is on squad teamwork and trying to play it as a one man army doesn't work well. If you are interested in this game you should really get a mic as that will be one of the biggest tools for you to succeed.

what kind of poll is this, I would play most games given the chance. What does the poll have to do with the title?

Under what criteria are we judging "best", how many FPS games should you have played before forming such an opinion. What would jesus do (frag some *****es?), all of these are important questions you left you. =P
