I saw Avatar last night it was crazy, the 3d effects didn't so much pop out at you at random parts of the movie but rather the whole movie was 3d enough to make you feel like you were on Pandora, very immersive movie.

If you go see it you should definitely go see it in 3d IMAX. funny though one of the best 3d effects was the Subtitles. (they were like BAM!)

Haven't seen the movie yet and I haven't seen a 3D movie in years. Plan on watching this one, don't know if I'll have the time to, no Imax's near where I live.

I'm sure normal Screens are good too, just not AS good.

Of course not, that's why IMAX has that huge rep in the movie industry. I've been to IMAX theaters before, but a theater opened up near me in 2002 or 2003 (don't remember when) - haven't had to go anywhere else for movies since then. But I've seen 3D movies there, it's definitely not as good.

I think i'm gonna go see it on Wednesday. (in a normal 3D cinema, none of your fancy IMAX mumbo-jumbo) The people i'm going with are really excited but i'm not getting my hopes up tbh. Apparently the plot's really bad so :S

I saw it in a regular 3D theater, and I found the CGI to actually be distracting, the plot was retardedly cliche, and the characters weren't really developed. I would have liked to see more time in human area, not avatar land. I'm sure I would have liked the movie better had I not seen it in 3D, but...idk.

the CGI didn't blend well with the live action at all, and it was very jarring when they switched. Idk. I had high (but reasonable) hopes and was sorta let down. (the ending battle was sweet though, as well as that flying red thing, i'll give them that.

I knew it, without Imax it's not gonna be fun :|

I actually quite enjoyed it. Yes, it was very predictable but it was visually stunning. The charcters were pretty good - you could sympathise with them. Pandora was very well thought out, the beasts were pretty kool.

It's got a little something for everyone (except little kiddies) and the graphics are so jaw-dropping it's worth a see.

yeah I heard this movie was good but the CGI covered for the so-so story line

:| Hmm, we have no Imax here. So this is something i'm jealous of people who watched it on Imax.
