Best of 2009

With another year behind us I was just wondering what game we all thought was the best overall this year.

I tried to include all the games that have been pretty popular but if you choose other please specify what game you felt was the best. Also feel free to post your top 5 games of the year if you feel so inclined.

My top 5 are:
Uncharted 2
Assassins Creed 2
Dragon Age Origins
Borderlands
Flower

Frankly (no pun intended), MW2 and Beatles RockBand shouldn't be on the list.

MW2 from all the people I talk to think that it isn't as good as MW. Not to mention I thought it was boring.

And Beatles Rockband is a little lower on the scale than retarded. Pathetic, comes close. It's the same damn game -- just with "psychedelic" Beatles songs. Woo?

The reason both of those games made the big list was to give people options. A ton of people like music games and even though I don't personally like them I think its good to give a nice spread of options. I would be surprised if any best of 2009 list didn't have MW2 on it. MW2 really is the biggest multiplayer shooter of the year.

Assassin's Creed 2 was just such a huge improvement over the first one!
Left 4 Dead 2 deserves to be in that list but doesn't deserve to win it in my opinion... Call of Duty, Dragon Age Origins we're definitely good games and Uncharted 2 was great as well!
Madden is just like another Madden with a bit of improved graphics but the commentator is just so... b....oo.....rr..ii...nnnn..ggg he makes u fall asleep so just switch him off.. or not!
Forza looks really good, with the online storefront and the customization surely a contender for the best of 09.

For me the winner is Assassins Creed II, It had huge imporvemtns, the enviroment seems livley and you really feel that your in the game. It has greatly improved from the first part so I guess that's another plus right there. And the main character looks as cool as he always did ;)
I gave my vote to L4D2 by mistake -.- (can we change that?)

hmmm... Maybe it was because of playing it on a different platform, but i was disappointed by AC2. It contained about 2 days worth of play (except for the stupid feather things ¬.¬ ) and there were less side-quests. Don't get me wrong, I loved it - but meh, it just didn't live up to my expectations.

I've only just started it, but Ninja Gaiden sigma 2 would be my favourite game. Not sure how it compares to the original one yet, but so far so good.

Sims 3 is so overly complicated imo. I played it at a friends house - created a character, started to play the game but couldn't get her to move to where i wanted her to be, so i gave up. ;p

Really wanna try uncharted 2... and uncharted. :)

I haven't played MW2 yet but from what I've seen and from what people told me, it deserves to win.

L4D2 was good but they messed up the game play from the original game, which turned me off. Otherwise I would have voted for this. It has everything else, game play feels a bit "off" and the attacks of the original 3 special infected were just...wronged.

I may get MW2 later on this year, depending on how life goes for me.

I agree with you here. L4D2 would have made my list of 5 but for those reasons. I do really like that some of the maps in L4D2 are daytime maps.


I enjoyed MW2 very much and I really think its worth buying if you are a big online multiplayer gamer. I know people that LOVE this game and play online a ton. I enjoy story and single player personally and MW2 lacks a bit in this department. I know there were some issues at first with dedicated servers for the PC version but I would guess there are some good ones out there now.

Anyway, yeah, my vote goes towards MW2, it's actually the only game I played on that list lol. MW2 is definitely my all time favorite game now though.

idk if i already posted here, but i voted dragon age. never have i felt so connected to the characters. the story is only alright so far (i'm preparing for the landsmeet) and i don't like the whole complete these tasks in any order thing it has (i'm more of a linear rpg guy) but everything else is great. i'm completely addicted.
