Do you think that in football, you can blame a loss on a key player getting injured? I was thinking about this since Colt McCoy got hurt last night and Texas lost.

If my team loses and a few starters are injured I don't mention it. Atleast I try not to say anyting about it. Every team gets injuries, if you say "They only lost because blah blah was hurt" It's just an excuse because they lost.

Well it doesn't really matter what sport we're talking about if it's Soccer, American Football, Basketball or others, a really good team should keep winning if a couple of players are injured. I mean that's what makes a good team right ? It's the whole team, if I'd just have 3 extremely good players and the rest is average I won't win anything will I ? Except if these 3 players stay in superb form throughout the season.

well basketball, 3 really good players can easily win a lot of games, if the other 2 are terrible. in football it's kind of different. If your QB is injured he's the one who starts/runs the plays so if you have a terrible back up, you won't win lol.

Lol I said it depends
just because for football like trunks said if the QB is injured you do have a less chance of winning the game
but on the other hand, in basketball you could have like 2 good players on a team and the rest aren't as good, and one of them gets injured you can't use the excuse because the team probably would have lost anyway

excuses are excuses. when you have a starter go down you should have someone that can step in and fill the void. It's Texas fault that they put in a inexperienced freshman. One other note, man for being #1 against the run, the longhorns sure were ran over.

Thank you. Its a team not a person team. People need to stop making excuses and accept the fact they lost. And not blame it on something.

In Football, it's a team game for a reason
One person gets injured, it's no excuse, the players should be trained to be a good team.
A "good" team doesn't have 1 great guy.
It has a team full of great guys.
This is why I don't like Basketball, with 5 people on the court, having ONE great guy (LeBron on the Cavs) CAN and WILL make a difference, so it's barely a team game.
