I don't really know of many underrated video games, but what games can you think of that got less credit than they deserved?

Lost Odyssey IMHO, I don't know many people that played it and the story was pretty awesome. The dream scenes had some of the best writing I've ever seen in a video game.
The graphics were so great and you had to get so involved with the game and I loved that.
I think it is Civilization 4.

Beyond good and Evil. Just an awesome game.
Advent Rising. another awesome game that was meant to have 2 sequels but didn't because no one bought it.

I think it would be Rival Schools for the ps1. It was a HIT in Japan, but it wasnt in the U.S. and rarely any people played it. (Its a Japanese Fighter Game)

Worms Armageddon.
Not any of the other Worms games, before or after, Worms Armageddon... a beautifully simple tanks-style 2D turn based tactical combat game with enough uniquely functioning weapons and customization to make countless very different feeling and function types of matches come out of one game.
It's one drawback that stopped it from being really popular: the SUPER STEEP learning curve to be able to use all those specific weapons and be able to make a tactic with a deep understanding of their functionality in the specific custom rules/set-up for the match you're in.
There's a little nitch audience out there that knows how to play this game, and we are very happy together

Pokemon snap. I see a lot of comments on how it was boring, i didn't find taking pictures of Pokemon's in their natural habitats boring at all.

I've gotta say Devil May Cry 2 is the most (or one of the most) underrated games I've ever played. While it didn't really fit into the series, plus the reviews made it sound like the worst game ever made, it was/is a pretty sweet game IMO. I haven't gotten around to beating Lucia's disc yet, but Dante's disc isn't too bad. I also believe that you can play as Trish from DMC 1, and there's a "Bloody Palace" mode. The only thing about Dante's disc that I didn't like was/is the ending. Now THAT part sucked, but the rest was cool. lol

Devil May Cry
underrated
wait wut. Were those two words in the same sentence?
Another obscure game - Arcanum. It's a steampunk RPG, circa 2000, with lots of freedom to change the world based on your actions (a huge, wide open "morality" system that goes as far as to give you the option to attack and kill almost every NPC in the game, if you so pleased.) The music stands out as it's all done by a live string quartet - with a surprisingly appropriate and immersing application.
I could talk about this game for a while because I love it so much but I'll stop there. This was one of the last games Sierra developed before acting solely as a publisher... I always loved that company, always made such good games ;(
