i know this is the wrong forum, but it has to do with gaming and i wanted it here...

anyways, i think the speakers in my tv are broken, cuz they crackle whenever the tv makes any noise. and final fantasy 13 comes out when i'm on break from college. I don't want to play final fantasy 13 and have to deal with crackling noises the whole time, so does anybody know how to fix the speakers/add external speakers to a tv?

there should be a "line out" on the back of your TV that you could connect (probably via RCA) to a receiver. The receiver would then have to be hooked up to your speaker system...

That's a handful of gear that you might not have, but it would probably be easier to get that than fix the built-in speakers on the TV :eek1:

Mhm I used to have that problem on my old TV and thought it was broke, but it wasn't!

Go on your TV Menu then the Audio Menu and make sure all the bars are set at a reasonable height, make sure they are not pushed all the way to the top.

Hope this helped.

i would just do the rca deal diligence said u dont need nothing to fancy. if u have a little boom box wit rca hook ups on the back then hook it up. if u have surround sound like i do with recessed in wall and ceiling speakers and woofers even better

i looked, my tv doesn't have an out option. at least, not one that i saw.

if it helps i have a 32" HDTV hooked up through HDMI.

I didn't see any. i just checked my 19" HDTV that i have in my dorm, and it doesn't have any outputs, but that might be because it's a wimpy 19"

eventually i plan on getting a surround system, but i don't know when. probably waaay after i beat ff13 like 2384 times.

just a possibility .. but my hd tv upstairs has a little flap that folds down, and they've secreted it away so it doesn't get in the way (i guess when ur carrying it from place to place) .. perhaps you have something like this on yours?

thanks for posting the make - turns out there's only one line of TVs Digital Research has!

Digital Research Technologies Inc. (http://www.dr-tech.com/lcd-specs.html)

according this this spec sheet, you should have a SPDIF out (that's for audio) - with the right cables/receiver, you should be able to hook that up to an external sound system. If you have any questions as to how the heck to get that to work, ask away!

Without buying anything, if your TV has a Headphone Jack you can plug your computer speakers into that, I've done that before, by far not the best option but it works.
