So, have you ever done any? My friend and I picked up litter along side my road yesterday. It was everywhere... in the creek, in brier bushes. And some of the stuff we found was crazy. Just to name a few: underwear, tent poles, pipes, metal bars, beer items (seriously cans, bottles, six pack packages, the boxes that hold six pack packages), and even stuff as old as glass gatorade bottles... not to mention all the other random things. We ran out of room and couldn't pick up anymore after 3 trash bags. Lol, so what about you? Community service is a really good thing to have on resumes and apply for scholarships, so I figured maybe some others have done things.

I've volunteered at a retirement home in high school. Also volunteered at a local library (where I got a job later).
Volunteered at school tutoring kids in math and science.
In February I hope to volunteer at a local Community College doing taxes for the low income families around Queens for free.
And it's definitely a good thing to have. I probably have 200-300 hours total in community service already - will add on a lot more with the Tax thing.

I don't have much (which is one of the reasons I did that yesterday)... just cleaning up the litter, some math tutoring, work at a school bank, and I guess I would count working for the band boosters.

I volunteered at a Christian summer camp for 9 weeks cleaning dishes. I worked around 7 hours a day 6 days a week for 2 months, so I have a lot of hours from that one thing...

I did some volunteering at my old elementary school. Helped a few of my old teachers, ran the karaoke station for the end of the year fair thing.
Haven't done much volunteering in quite some time.
Though I plan to go to the river near my house and clean up some trash <:
i did wut we call community service i had to do 8 hours days for 25 days. I had to work at the soup kitchen where the poor and homeless come to eat and had to pick up trash in the city. Witch we found alot of needles and aluminum foil crack pipes it was rather gross even a dead dog on a corner lot and endless amounts of trash.

I did a beach clean - in the middle of winter. It was perishing. And you're right kitty - there's some freaky stuff. In my case, we found a broken tennis racket, a bag of stones, tampons and condoms. ...somebody had an interesting time on the beach...
My friends work in charity shops, but i'm too lazy ;P It's good for getting a real job though.

That is impressive.
I have not done service for a while. But before that I did tons of service. I went to a developing country to help build a school for a couple of weeks during the summer. Have volunteered tons of hours in a therapeutic riding center. Volunteer quite awhile at a library. Have done other service including soup kitchens, food banks, and other things...
