Make Your Firefox Much Faster

1) Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2) Alter the entries as follows: (by double clicking them)

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. (I changed mine to 100, works great.)

3) Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

I've done that in the past and it was a bit faster, but not fast enough that I Really feel the need to do it this time, it works decent enough by default...

It helped mine. I've been having some issues with the slowness lately. Maybe not a huge difference, but it did help. So hey thanks.

It may be because I always have like 6000 windows open.

There's probably a Firefox add on out there that does all of those things automatically for those who aren't interested in delving into the wonders of about:config. Just throwing that out there, not sure if such an add on exists...

Same here. FF is fine. although I find google chrome to be much faster.

It may be because I always have like 6000 windows open.

I usually have between 12-18 tabs open at the same time. Right now it's 10 but I'm not even active on the pc right now and it's fine. Uses up a lot of RAM but it comes with the game.

Knowing firefox users...I'm sure there are. Never searched for one though.

Thanks for the info.

I had done this on my old computer but I completely forgot to do it on my new ones.

It actually seems to help a little bit, and any noticeable difference is always welcome. <:
