most of my friends, both real life ones and internet mates play the same kind of variety as i do .. after all for me the genre of the game is insignificant, the gameplay or fun that can be had playing it isn't

but your online friends are always going to play the same game as you and i think the genre matters becuase some people judge the game by its genre

I mostly play FPS games, with some RPGs thrown in the mix. And I have to say that my Friends mostly play FPS's too. However most of my friends are one the PS3 or 360, and I'm on the PC. So we get some overlap with games like left4dead, however I play a lot of PC only titles. Or titles that are heavily modifiable unlike their console brethren. I feel as if this post is a little disjointed, so I apologize in advance if it doesn't make perfect since...

L4d is a cross platform game, where as crysis and Halo 3 are not cross platform. However they are the same genre, and since I have been playing Crysis here lately and they have been playing Halo 3 we have been both playing FPSs. Therefore my friends and I are into first person shooters.

How is Halo 3 a RPG. Fallout 3 is a good example of a FPS mixed with an RPG, but Halo is surely not a RPG.

you dont have to gain xp and grow levels to be a rpg and if you think it does then play it online and you will get just that i used to think that was true too but i found out i was wrong

Kind of seems like there should have been an option like "No, any friends I have don't live where I do" or something. Cuz I've got friends, like on here, but I can't play with any of 'em since my PS Network needs broadband. -_-

my friends are into either FPS games or PC games. I like console JRPGs the best and i only know 1 person around where i live that likes those.

btw, Halo is in no way shape or form an RPG at all.
well tbh my friends dont game, they are all into other activities. They tend to tell me that im wasting my time and everything else. I love the look i get when i start talking about a game im currently playing or one i want to play, its like the are u an alien look.

Most of my friends play fps games, but i'm more into adventure and action type games. I do have one or two friends who play the same games as me though

I'm like Jango, I play a little bit of everything I don't care so much about the genre as I do the Fun Factor. My Friends however their views on games are so narrow it annoys me.
they either only play RPG or only FPS or only Action adventure. then I have a Few Friends that play the same Game over and over until the Same Company makes another Game.
Bugs me because their Missing out on all the Other Games out there that they "think" they wont like.

I don't have any friends; I fly solo. Rawr.
None of my friends really play any games. Well, if you don't count all those stupid online dressing games they don't.

Well, after some more thinkin and makin some gamer friends ( ;) ) They play the same kinda gamez that I do, for the most part. But other than online friends, I've got absolutely no friends where I live. XD Soooo sad, I mean, it's a small town so I should have made some friends by now. Meh, gamer friends pwn anyway. ^_^
