Just regsitered here. I have to assent to despite the fact that this forum is negligible it ooks truthful cool. I hope I resolution derive pleasure this.

Myself Halley from Houston. I love the internet and group networking sites and ofcourse the aged gold forums.

I don't worry about achievements/trophies on most games. I will play through a game and then sometimes if I really like it I will go back and try to get all the achievements or trophies. I got the platinum trophy for Assassin's Creed 2 and Borderlands. In WoW I got a ton of achievements in my pursuit of mounts, pets and titles but those items were the driving force not my interest in having the most points.

No I think they can extend the life of a game a bit or challenge you to try something different in them. If you don't want to get them you don't have to and I don't think that they really drive game sales at all.

Yeah but it's annoying the fact that the game tells me what to do. You can do all of the things in the game with or without there being a list of trophies for all the things you can do. I like being able to just play through the game and whenever i do something the whole "you unlock a trophy/achievement" thing gets annoying.

I dunno if it's annoying to me, but I agree with Epsilon. Besides, I've got dial-up, not broadband, so I couldn't get the achievements part even if I wanted to. As far as the trophies go, I don't really care. Even though the titles of them made me curious enough to take a peek at all of my trophies. Which are only from Darksiders anyway, but yeah, don't care for 'em either way, I just like to play the game.

hmm .. i just re-read the question of this thread and realised how stupid it is .. no-one will buy a game "just for trophy features or achivements" .. wot it's about, how it plays, the type of game will always come first .. just seems a waste of a thread tbh

Achievement don't matter to me AT ALL. I get happy when I get one (obviously) but if I do, I'm not gonna replay the whole game just to get that achievement.
The only time when I specifically play for achievements is when I completed the game.

I really haven't cared to much about achievements. They are handed out like candy in a lot of games. If I really like a game I try for the achievements, but that's different then going after them for the points. I just like to feel like I completed the game.

I have all 51 on mass effect2. =P

I brought Linger in Shadows from the PS store the other day, cause i had some money in my account and i wanted to see what it was like, and i also saw that it had trophies (waste of money btw.) Other than that waste of 3 dollars i've never bought a game for the trophies. I do like trophies though cause i like to brag to my friends that i have more. I can almost guarantee that there are people out there who buy games just for trophies cause they wanna get way high up on a trophy leaderboads, but i think that's dumb.

No I find them kinda pointless, but I know people on my friends list on XBL that rent games just to get achievements. I don't understand why.

Yeah jango I know about 4 people who like to have the trophies more than than they care about the game . Also i think the playstation live thing lets you use the trophies to buy stuff .I could be wrong about that .
