He seemed very sincere in his grief over the incident. Though it was hard to tell if he knew the person you can tell that he felt it was a tragedy, and really if you think about it, it really is.

I'm thankful that someone could put it in terms others could understand, this accident was made all the worse by its timing. And is probably twice as difficult on family and friends to see someone die right before their dreams of Olympic competition come true.

That was so tragic. Makes you wonder about the cost of high-risk sports. If I sat on the top of my car while someone drove it down an icy highway at high speed, people would think I was crazy. There's a fine line where the risk outweighs the benefits of a sport.
