Best Shooter Available?

I want some opinions, whats the best shooter out there?

Depends what you're looking for.
For online, Halo 3 or Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

For single player, Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are my favorite shooters, but not for online play.

No such thing as "the best" - it's all based on Opinion. You'll have people say COD MW2 is the best right now, others will say L4D/2 and I actually know a few people that still think CS 1.6 is the best shooter out there. Sometimes I think that too because I still play it after all these years.

I didn't think about that, Co-Op shooters, I heard Army of Two 40th day was great, but I love my LEft 4 Dead for Co-Op

Yeah, SOCOM is also a pretty good series. The Only shooter I was good at on a console...

I also liked the BF series but I haven't played any of the recent ones.

i would go for the following 3 if i didn't already have them .. p.s. these aren't the best of all time imo, but recent ones ..

borderlands
fallout 3
rainbow 6 series

i kinda like shooters that offer a bit more in terms of story or character progression rather than straight forward shooters, and i particularly like strategic fps games

looking forward to bad company 2 in the near future too

in addition to my post above i'd also add mass effect 2 these days .. altho it has more to it than simply being a shooter ..
