lets talk mashed potatoes

Okay so lets talk about them :P.

Preferences? I personally loved homemade vs. instant

Gravy anyone? Yes for me. Not sure what I like more brown, turkey or my moms homemade gravy she makes when she cooks ham

Gravy down, how bout butter? I also can deal with butter when gravy isn't an option.

Any unique way you guys eat them?

I like them with gravy as well. But my mom cooks them in another way and puts burnt peppers and whatnot in it. Tastes really good. No need for gravy in that one. It's good hot and cold. Never really paid attention to how she made them..all I know is that I like it.

Never had it with butter though.

i like mashed potato and baked beans, but other than that i don't tend to have them all that much. i especially love mashed potato (or tatties as i call them) at a Burns night celebration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burns_supper) along with the normal dressings for haggis .. also the whisky tends to help :P

I think my mum makes them with cream. and gravy ofc. but, they're at their best with brown sauce AND SAUSAGES!!

I don't really like mashed potatoes with gravy. I'm sure I did at some point, but not anymore.

I used to always look forward to my high school's mashed potatos...idk why. It was instant potatos with no taste and a pool of butter in the middle, but they tasted good, especially with chicken nuggets or chicken parm.

I've had them a thousand different ways, depending on my resources. But usually I settle for chunky... smothered in cheese.

Actually some of my favourite are these instant ones, they have all this taste and they're so fluffy MMMMMM

and who doesn't like gravy?

I prefer mashed potatos with gravy, some nice seasoning, and warm not left over :)
