The IRC channel can get out of hand at times so we've decided to make a few rules that everyone must follow when in the GF IRC channel.

Here are the rules, they are subject to change at any time, you are responsible for knowing them:

Excessive spamming will mostly be handled by SpamServ, but in some cases, a channel operator may step in and put a stop to the spam. This could mean a kick or a ban from the channel.

No links to offensive or pornographic sites or content in the open channel. If you must link to these, sites, do it in a private message. This will also result in a kick or a ban from the channel.

Disagreements happen sometimes, but don't let them get out of control. If you need someone to mediate, ask a channel operator to step in or be the bigger man/woman and put an end to it. Don't act like little kids.

Direct and excessive abuse of someone won't be tolerated.

The chat in IRC tends to be very varied, but there are some topics that might be deemed as inflamitory - if you are asked to move on from a subject then do so.

If you believe an Op has treated you unfairly or that you're receiving hassle from someone on IRC then either get in contact with an OP or Linux, whichever is appropriate. The channel isn't the place for your issue to be dealt with, and could lead to more problems. If contacting Linux, Please take a screenshot of the portion of the chat. Copy/paste can be altered and will not be accepted as proof.

We don't mind some vulgar language in the channel but keep all offensive language out of the channel.

Harassment of other members in the channel will result in a permanent ban from the channel.

Use the channel for fun conversations, not to start pointless arguments.

Have fun
