Sonic the Hedgehog 4

Sega has announced that a new and exciting title is in development - Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode 1. This is going to be a continuation of the original Sonic the Hedgehog series - the 2D side scrolling action adventure of awesome - picking up with the plot where if left off in Sonic and Knuckles.

Everything about it is trying to stay close to home. The aim seems to be to create a game that's like "what if Sonic 3 were developed and rendered with today's technology and graphics?"

It'll be available for download (exclusively) from PSN, Xbox Live, and WiiWare (and possibly other sources, they haven't announced yet) this summer. If you run along to www.sonicthehedgehog4.com (http://www.sonicthehedgehog4.com) you can hype yourself up with the little bits (and I mean VERY little bits) of info they've leaked there.

This should be a cute, cheap, fun few hours of nostalgic and entertaining gaming!

SEGA is also pleased to confirm that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode I will be coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch via Apple’s iTunes App Store.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode I is developed specifically for the download market and will be available via Microsoft XBLA, Sony PSN, Nintendo WiiWare and the iTunes App Store in late 2010.

They're getting it into the apple app store? Curious. I wonder if we'll see more simple arcade stylish games showing up with some notable presence on the iPhone/iPad... I think the last thing we need is for Apple to monopolize another industry >.>

Introducing... the iPlay! Like the wii, but shiny and made by apple ;D

I'm still hyped for this to come out :) can't wait to nab it on wiiware!
