When I think about fighting games I think about a narrower catigory. I think specificly about 2d fighters and similar side view fighting games.
I was wondering if we have many big fighter fans here on the forum. If so what are your favorites? How many do you think you have played, and do you still play them on a regular basis.
Im getting back into a lot of fighting games specificly the Street Fighter Alpha series.
Street Fighter Alpha2 might be my favorite fighting game. I also loved Soul Calibur 3 and and older title called Deadly Arts for the N64.
My family has played a lot of Super Smash Brothers as well. Our fighters started ont he N64 with Mace the Dark age, Smash Brothers, Deadly Arts and so on..
The real addiction of a fighting game is competition. And I grew up in a competative family. So it was a lot of fun always trying to be better then the last time. Im looking around but I cant really find any good online fighters. Not really a fan of a lot of the unbalanced stuff you see, like street fighter 4 or Marvel Vs. Capcom2 (great game offline though).
I think if I made a video game, I would start out by making a fighting game. Learning what I like about fighting games has actually made my realize how hard it must be to make a balanced fighting game. I think I would like to give it a try some day, but until then I will keep trying every fighter I come across.
