PROBLEM: Teamspeak 2 is teh suxxor

REASONING: TS2 offers limited features compared to TS3 or Ventrilo and does not even have a Mac OS client. Features that I know for a fact at least Ventrilo offers, among others that I would like to have, include superior customizable audio processing to ensure controlled clarity and volume levels from all members of the VoIP server and a much cleaner and more neatly organized GUI. I have never seen a spambot appear in a Ventrilo VoIP server, either (just saying)

SOLUTION: We scrap the TS2 server and instead instate a Gamers-forum TS3 server (a possible viable solution) or a Gamers-forum Ventrilo server (a solution that I would personally prefer because I believe the ventrilo client to offer more features and customization than TS3, although I have not fully researched TS3, tbh.)

QUESTION: how much does the TS2 server cost you? What work would it entail for you to get a server for a different client up? Would it cost more? Is there any way that I or anyone else can help you given that I know a bit about hosting a Ventrilo server and accessing/controlling servers remotely?

j/w.... :P

Skype doesn't get audio as clear as ventrilo, doesn't support PTT, and will limit how many people you can get in one chat much more than a separate server will. Skype runs pretty hard on the CPU with a chat open, too, sometimes

I still have to remember and make time to install TS3. And I can't do ventrilo, it's not free, but if you want to pay for the license then I'm sure I can squeeze it in :) otherwise vent is out of the question right now. And trust me, I tried setting it up, Ventrilo creators are just greedy even if the channel is for personal use.

edit: I run all the servers at home so just the electricity bill. It wont' cost more to get a TS3 server up, I just have to make time for it and actually remember to install it because Teamspeak really isn't something I think about most of the time.
