my first banner creation

Well I finally downloaded gimp and made my first banner and think I will stick to trying to make signatures.

it sucks, it would have been better in my opinion if I had some more experience.

Its not the best but oh well I think i did my best on it with very limited experience.

Any and all input is welcome I do want to better myself at this.

I like the green phade of the black lettering. I think it'd be better if the pink line things would of been on a solid black background

Ya the matrix code looks awesome in my opinion but what i was trying to do from the start was make a background color import the picture and use some crazy crap that you see between the lettering.

Like i said first go so :P this is an experiment, im pretty sure i can do better just need to find a good guide out there so i can learn blending and stuff.

Do you know any sites that can teach me some better gimp usage.

Pretty good for a first try. And thedeparted posted a good link - tutorialized.com is already listed under gimp but you should also look at pixel2life.com. I used to go there for photoshop tutorials but they should have gimp tutorials as well.

Also try youtube, some people upload videos of them actually creating the stuff which is more helpful than reading the instructions or looking at images.

overall do you like it on a scale of 10 what would you rate it?

problem is with youtube I try typing in exactly what i want like "Blending images with gimp" I get some kid i cant make out talking about gimp but something off topic and when im mad I cant stand stupidity >.>

what is a good size for a signature?
