That’s right Yakuza fans, you can breathe a sigh of relief and raise your glasses. According to a post on their blog yesterday, SEGA confirmed that the PS3 exclusive Yakuza 4 will be making its Western debut in the Spring of 2011. While the game was released in Japan in March, there was a big question from fans as to whether or not it would ever be brought to the west.
With many surprised (and thrilled) that Yakuza 3 received a Western localization (so to speak), some thought it highly unlikely the fourth game would get the same love. Well it seems Yakuza 3 sold well enough to justify the treatment again. While there has not been a lot of detail offered regarding the localization of Yakuza 4, one thing that the developer has made clear is that the Hostesses will return in this version (a change from their noticeable removal in Yakuza 3).
As an added bonus, the game’s Producer, Toshihiro Nagoshi, has agreed to answer some user questions about the series after E3. To post your question for Nagoshi-san, head over here and leave it in the comments section.
So how many Yakuza fans are out there and how stoked are you about this announcement? Are you surprised to hear that the West will be getting another Yakuza game? Show your love for the series below or someone might just smash a chair across your face (or maybe a bicycle)!!
I wonder how much 3 sold because there seemed to be a lot of complaining about stuff getting removed, apparently like the article said it sold well enough to justify bringing 4 west as well
