There is info on IMDB so I'm assuming it's real. But the release is still 3 years away. We'll have to wait and see to confirm this one.

because you got people making crappy video game movies, this one isnt based on a video game, it is but isnt, it has its own story line in the mortal kombat world that doesnt follow any video game so if it sucks it sucks because the director made it so, not because it doesnt follow a video game.

I dont know about everyone eltse but when I go to see a video game movie I want it to stick to the story of the video game. To me the movie is like a tribute to the game. But I do see your point.

That's a great philosophy and I'd agree entirely with the one exception that when a video game doesn't present a full enough plot for a full feature length film (which is very often the case,) some new material needs to be crafted to fill in the void.

I agree with you, but there is a fine line. I think the first mortal kombat did pretty good with trying to stay with the story of the game. It was the bad acting that made that movie not to good.
