Hello, I'm new to these forums.

Let me start by saying that I own a indie game development company called The Random Tuxedos Games.

Anyways, we're currently creating a game, and since this is the GAMERS forum, I'd assume you guys would be the ones to release snippets of information to.

Here's an excerpt from our site about the game:

Hello There!

You must have some interest in Darwin if you’ve come to this page…

Well, let’s get into his world.

-Darwin’s World-

Darwin is one of the 30,000 super moles that live in his metropolis of tunnels. His race of moles were genetically engineered to be extremely intelligent and extremely hardy by Soviets back in the days of The Cold War. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, a Soviet leader brought a batch of these moles into a lab in Cuba. An enraged Castro bashed open the Moles’ cage. They then sprang free and jumped onto a ship leaving for the US. The Soviets then wiped all documents and ruled the experimentation as a failure.

Years Later, Darwin was born. Darwin was a lazy couch potato who only liked to hang around and chill with his friends. One day, he found that there were no more chips in his cabinet, so he left the tunnel metropolis to get some potato chips. On his way back, a half dead mole came yelling for him. The mole fell to the ground and told Darwin that he was the last hope for the tunnels. He told him of a Group of Gofers that, through evolution, had become smart enough to plot against the moles. They had begun filling all of the tunnels with dirt, and the mole population was either taken for slaves, or worse. The old mole told Darwin, that he was the only one who could liberate his people. The old Mole then died. It was now up to Darwin to save his people from the evil gofers who have destroyed everything he has grown to love.

-Gameplay-

This game plays as a side scrolling platformer, shooter, and puzzle game. Playing as darwin, you must dig up caved in tunnels, kill all enemies, and liberate all of your enslaved Mole companions. Towards the end of the game, you will need to defeat Big G, the head of the gofers.

Currently you have a gun and a sticky grenade launcher to choose from.

The gameplay will be explained soon within the video explaining the Engine.

Peace!

Joseph Vincent

We plan to utilize all aspects of 2D gaming (platformers, shooters, puzzle games, etc.) and are wondering what you''d like to bring?!

We currently are on a shortage of artists and would love if someone could do some art for us!

We are also looking for people to think up ideas for games, as you can never get enough help.

EDIT:
I'd also like to mention that this is going to be released on the iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, Steam Engine, Mac Desktop, and Windows desktop.
Again, thanks for reading!

Sounds interesting, What is it PSN/Live/Wii Ware/XNA(or whatever live indie games is called) PC? Is it going to be free/cost?

The PC and Mac desktop versions will be distinctively more difficult to control than the iPhone/iPad versions, so they will be free for download.

If I hit a commercial success with the versions out on the app store, I will move on to recode the entire game to C# for XNA, if it fails, I'm not gunna risk the time.

Right now, everything looks like an Atari 3000 game, hahahaha. I'm worried more about getting an artist who will work well, than anything else.

EDIT:
I'd give you a direct link to my Blog, but it seems new members can't post.

So,

you'll figure it out.

Thanks for compliment!

I'm going to be starting my video blog about it tomorrow, and hopefully I'll stay here long enough to be able to give a select few some tester codes for the app store.

Oh and sorry for the double post, but, are either of you interested in working in game development?
I'd love to have someone shooting me ideas every once and awhile.

There are a handful of us (myself included) here on the forum who are interested by/have studied some game development. If you have anything you want input on share your thoughts on the forum and you'll likely get a healthy number of responses!

Are you looking for artists to just work freelance for you? Would that be a paid/contractual position?

It looks like you found out new members can't post links, we did that so that people like you don't come on just to advertise for personal benefits. So don't try to work around the system by telling people there is a .com at the end of a word.

Well, we can't make standard fees for artists right now, because we are just starting, which means we have no money. Artists would get paid a percentage of general profit that comes in from the game, if that makes sense.

I didn't come on just to advertise for personal benefits.. I was just announcing a game in production. I'm also contributing to other threads in the forum, but alas, I'm sorry to have been rebellious towards your rules. I will just wait till I have 10 posts to post links.

Thank you, I hope you'll read through our rules. And you'll have to excuse some of the strictness in the rules but as you may imagine, we get many people trying to find loopholes to the rules and it gets annoying after a certain point.

Other than that, good luck with the game.
