Squal or Leon

In kindom Hearts you meet a man named Leon. What you probally don't know is that he is also Squal from FFVIII. Does anyone know the reason for the name change?

and I havent played kingdom hearts enough to notice, i've played FF8 but only a little, kingdom hearts, even less gameplay

Because his full name is Squall Leonhart

His name IS NOT Squall Leonhart, it's Squall Lionhart.

Squaresoft (Square Enix) Forbade Disney from using the proper names of the main characters, that is why they changed it, not Lion because who names themself Lion? so Leon.

If my friend read this he'd freak out, his favourite Final Fantasy is VIII luckily mine is VII :mad1:

i cant see how final fantasy VIII is good. squal just ruined the game in my opinion. VII is my favorite as well.

VIII is a great game, it has a nice story with nice difficult enemies and a nice story, I thought everything fit pretty well together, the FMV's were class and sometimes you could hardly tell when the FMV ended and the interaction begins.
