So, I just got back from the movie place seeing that movie, Mr"Whatatwist" did a pretty good job on taking the series and bringing it to the big screen.
For the most part the movie followed the series, they did blow thru Book 1: Water very quickly missing out on some small details and everything, but it was still good. One thing that annoyed me was that they got the names wrong, Ah-ong, ya >.> Aang >.> research plox.
The action was pure win, You saw the elements being used, and there was talking but they did drag out the action parts which was good. Most people in the theater knew the storyline, because they were screaming out the faults in the movie, so getting to the action faster would have been a plus but I still enjoyed it.
They did hit the key points in the movie from the series which was good, but pretty much going from esp. 1 to the end of book 1 was kinda sad they did stop at different places helping people out but thats what makes the series good we see aang helping others.
So at the Northern Water Tribe, we see that Sakua falls in love, love dies, they only knew each other for about 2-3 weeks and they were in love, wtf? Emo love story right hurr. Anywho they pretty much end Book 1 where Aang becomes a water spirit beast and rips the Fire nation a new one, in this one he "lets go" that he ran away and was the reason his brothers, sisters and teachers died.
He pretty starts praticing water bending Martial Arts, all the element styles of firing are based on real martial arts fyi. So he does this for a few minutes enters the Avatar state, which he does like 5 times, and makes about 100 ft wave and watches the fire nation go bye bye.
So at the end we learn that Comet is coming in 3 years which is incorrect because it comes about 6 months to a year after Aang returns to the world.
Pretty much I liked it, better than that fairy of a movie Twilight, DOnt really feel like seeing nerco and bestality, and if you feel the same, go see The Last Airbender and enjoy yourself :)
